I woke up to a knock on my door. The sunlight seeping through the blinds, some of them were missing. "Asha! It's time to get up, we have school!" My sister, Marci, shouted through the door. Ugh, school...
"Okay!" I shouted back.
I got out of bed and pulled some clothes out my wardrobe, after looking outside to check the weather. It was cloudy today so I decided, after 10 minutes, to wear my dark denim skinny jeans and my white vest which I wore underneath my deep red shirt.
After I was dressed I walked over to my dressing table to do my hair and makeup. I fought to brush my dark brown hair, my curls always made it difficult. I love my hair it just takes so much effort. Once it was brushed I pulled it to my left side and loosely braided it and I clipped in my navy blue bow. My makeup was always the same for school, a little bit if foundation and mascara with some pale pink lip gloss. My sister went the complete opposite and did a full face of makeup, dark red lips and eyeliner - everything. Maybe that was why she got so much attention from the boys. But at school I was known as a good girl and my sister a bad one, she sleeps around and doesn't love, it wouldn't surprise me if she dropped out soon. I care about school and my grades, I work hard on my homework so I don't throw my life away. I almost got moved up a year when I was 12, now I'm 16 turned it last week.
I walked downstairs and made a coffee, that's all I ever had in the morning. Marci was sat on the counter munching on a packet of crisps, I don't get how she stays so thin when she it's like a pig. I'm the same size as her but I eat a lot less, I have to watch what I eat whereas she doesn't.
The doorbell rang. I said goodbye to my sister, even though I'd see her at school. I ran to the door and grabbed my bag and leather jacket on the way. I opened the door, "Hey Asha." Pony said.
"Hi guys." I said to Pony and Johnny. We were all greasers, they were my friends. Pony(boy) had dark brown hair heavily greased and quite long, it suited him like that. Johnny had black hair and dark brown eyes, also greased like Pony's, again it suited him.
The walk to school wasn't long but it was silent. Me and Johnny never really talked much, well I talked quite a lot when I was with Twobit, Soda and Dally. "What lessons do you guys have today?" I eventually said, breaking the silence.
"Algebra, PE, English and.... Oh I can't remember. I'll tell you at lunch. Same with Johnny I think." Pony told me. Johnny nodded and said,
"Yeah me too."
"Great!" I said. "I'm alone until English."
"Oh well." Ponyboy chocked out whilst laughing.
We were at the gates now. I hugged Johnny and Pony goodbye and walked off to geometry, the long day of school ahead. At least I had the gangs house later to look forward to.
