"Do you think we should call Peter?"

"No, he won't believe us."

"Are you sure? I mean, crazy things always happen around here."

"He's living his own life, Natasha. We can't ruin it for him."

I sighed and left my hiding place in the living room.

"I can hear you guys, you know," I said.

"Sorry, (Y/n). Have you made your decision on calling Peter?" Steve asked me.

"Yes I have. The answer is no," I said, sighing.

"Come on (Y/n). It'll give him closure," Bucky said.

You're probably really confused right now. Who's POV is this? It's mine. (Y/n) (L/n). Crazy, I know.

She's dead! you're probably thinking.

She's breaking the fourth wall! you're also probably thinking.

Wait, since this is (Y/n), and my name is (Y/n), is this.. MY point of view?

That depends on how you see things. The author probably didn't want to put POV changes to keep the mystery.

Anyways, enough breaking the fourth wall.

"I don't want to ruin his life, Buck. I've been back for what, two years now? He's probably happy without me," I said sadly.

"I heard he's married and has kids," Tony said, entering the room.

15 years ago, I died because of a girl who could control my power.

"Died", actually. I'm alive now. After 13 years. It was actually a coma? Don't know how that works. I found my way back to the Avengers compound and they took me in again.

I've been in hiding ever since. I didn't want anyone from high school to recognize me and make a big deal out of it. It'd eventually lead back to Peter, and it'd be an even bigger mess.

Of course I missed him, but I would never ever go to him. Tony said he was married and had kids. I know I'd just mess everything up.

"Do you want to go somewhere?" Bucky asked, walking up to me. I was sitting on the couch with my head down, lost in thought.

"No," I replied. Bucky sighed and sat next to me.

"You gotta get out of the house sometime. This isn't healthy," he said. I shrugged.

"I just don't-"

"Want to see anyone you know. I get it, kid," Bucky said, patting my back.

"Are you still looking for Chaz?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah. We don't know if she's even on this planet. Our scanners can't find a single trace of her," Bucky said.

"What about the X-Men?" I asked.

"We found them about three years ago. They agreed to tell us if Chaz came back to them. I'm sorry, kid," Bucky said.

"It's fine. What's changed?" I asked. Ever since I came back, I haven't talked to Bucky much. Or anyone, really. Sure, everyone said their hellos and "I missed you"s when I came back, but I had no idea what was happening in the world.

"A lot. A lot of tragedy, mostly," he said.

"Elaborate," I said. He sighed.

"I don't want to tell you," he said.

"Come on. I'm a big girl, I can handle it," I said jokingly. How bad could it be?

"The man who owned your comic book shop died," he said.

"What?" I asked quietly.

"Stan. I think that was his name," Bucky said. I looked down at my hands.

The one thing that I wanted to do was visit the comic store with Peter again. I missed him and our memories so damn much.

"What happened?" I asked, trying not to cry.

"Old age. He died peacefully," Bucky said.

That's the only good thing about this. Stan didn't have to leave the world in pain.

"Good. What happened to the comic store?" I asked.

"It's still there. That Tobey kid runs it now. Completely remodeled the place. When I heard you were back I immediately went there to tell Stan and pick up some comics for you, and that's when I found out," he explained.

I smiled a bit. Bucky truly did care about me—he was probably my best friend. Before and after I died.

"In other news, your two friends are married," Bucky said randomly.

"Really? Who?" I asked.

"That Bella girl and Gwen. I think that's what her name was," Bucky said. I smiled to myself. At least something is good in the world.

"They were together in high school," I said with a sad smile.

"Want anything from Chili's? Sam, Steve, and I are going," Bucky said, standing up.

"Uh, sure. Just some (f/food)," I said.

"Of course you want that," Bucky said with a chuckle.

"It's my favorite," I said defensively.

"Oh, trust me. I know," he said with a smile. I smiled back at him. A genuine smile. Something I haven't been doing much.

All I wanted was to run after him and say "I'll go with you", but I couldn't risk being seen. It might just be the paranoia talking, but it was my biggest fear.

My only fear, really. Besides being found by Chaz and being killed. For real, this time.

My powers were still here. I didn't use them very much, though. I kept them contained. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt because of me.

No one pushed me to, either. None of the Avengers tried pressuring me into training or using them, which makes this whole being alive again thing a lot better.

It's not that I wanted to be dead, I just wish I had never died. Would I still be with Peter? Would I be the one married to him?

"I need to get some air," I mumbled to myself. Sighing, I put on my shoes and snuck towards the door.

I walked outside and closed the door behind me, feeling the wind in my hair.

I'm probably going to regret this.
