Peter and I walked into the hotel room and closed the door quietly. We looked at each other before leaning in to slowly kiss again.

"I thought I lost you," he said quietly in between kisses. It wasn't rough, but it was passionate.

Soft and passionate.

"You can't get rid of me that easily," I said. Peter smiled. I pulled away and walked towards the bed.

"I missed you so much," he said, walking behind me and placing his hands firmly on my shoulders.

"You have a wife," I said quietly. Peter sighed and sat down on the bed.

"I do," he said.

"Tell me about her. And the kids," I said, sitting next to him. I saw a lady walk out of the alley I found Peter in, but I didn't see her face.

"Well, I have two kids. You met Ben, and then there's my daughter. She's 6, and her name is Rosie," he said.

"Like the waitress at the diner we used to go to?" I asked. Peter blushed.

"Yeah," he said quietly.

"That's so cute. What about your wife?" I asked.

"Uh, she's alright," he said hesitantly.

"What do you mean? You married her," I said with a laugh.

"I know. It's just.. I've been second guessing our marriage a lot lately," he said.

"Oh. Why's that? If you don't mind me asking," I said, putting my hands in my lap. Peter grabbed my hands and held them.

"Ever since my daughter brought me a picture of us in high school, I haven't stopped thinking about you," he said sweetly.

"That's sweet, Peter. I've been back for 2 years, and I've thought about you the whole time," I said. Peter dropped my hands back in my lap.

"You've been back for 2 years and haven't even bothered to call?" He asked, starting to get angry.

"Peter, I knew you had a wife and kids. I couldn't just barge into your life after 13 years," I said calmly. He sighed and took my hands again.

"I'm sorry, (Y/n). That was selfish of me to say," he said.

"It's okay. Tell me about your wife," I said.

He was being weird about her. Like she was a secret, or something. Which can't be, because he's married to her. Why was he dodging the question.

"You aren't gonna like this," he said.

"Oh, come on. Who could it be?" I asked sarcastically.

"Mary Jane Watson," he said quickly. I pulled my hands away from him.

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked. He sighed.

"I thought you were dead, (Y/n). I hated myself for marrying her because I wasn't in love with her. I've been in love with you this whole time," he said.

Mary Jane Watson. The girl that helped Peter break my heart. Huh. I thought he had taste.

"Peter, if you've been in love with me... then why did you just come to the compound a week ago? Why not before?" I asked.

"I was scared. Scared that Mary Jane would find out and leave me and take the kids," he said, his voice cracking. I sighed.

"I understand. I just wish that you didn't make a scene when you came over, at least. It's not Tony's fault that you haven't spoken to him in 13 years," I said.

"You saw that?" He asked, clearly embarrassed by his behavior.

"I did. I was in the lab," I said. Peter sighed and held his head in his hands.

"I don't know what to do. I want to make everything right. I want to leave Mary Jane and be with you. I want to patch things up with Tony. I'm just too scared. She's going to take my kids, (Y/n). She probably won't ever let me see them," he said, starting to panic.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. Tony will understand. Just talk to him and apologize, but give him time. He'll come around," I said.

"But my kids," Peter said.

"If you talk things out with Mary Jane and tell her how much you love them, she'll let you see them. If not, then take legal action. She can't keep her kids away from their father," I explained, rubbing Peter's back.

Peter looked up at me and placed his hand on my cheek, moving the hairs out of my face. He slowly moved in, and we shared a slow and soft, yet passionate kiss.

"I missed this," he said.

"Me too," I replied.

We spent the rest of the night talking, kissing, and enjoying each other.

No, we didn't have sex. Get your mind out of the gutter.

We fell asleep while watching a movie. Well, at least Peter did. I, however, was wide awake.

Mary Jane? Come on, Peter. At least get a woman with some personality. I could tell that all she wanted was sex. That's probably why he cheated on me with her back in high school.

Everything is starting to come together now.

The only reason he's still with her is because he didn't want to lose his kids. He was faking this entire marriage just so this evil woman wouldn't steal away what he loves most.

And that absolutely broke my heart.
