I walk aimlessly down the dark, grey street, with my life chasing me from behind. My hands and feet are cold and my head feels dizzy. I see the barbed wire fence holding me in, and I begin to climb. Rich, red blood seeps out of my limbs onto the pavement, and I know that there is no going back now. My mind is set on being free. Free from the cage I call home. Free from the words thrown at me every day. Free from the expectations. Free from the 'good' girl I am. I fall down the other side of the fence, scraping my body all the way, hitting the ground hard. My knees are grazed and my trousers are bloodstained. I slowly stand feeling shaky and I start to walk. I start to walk but I don't know where. I start to walk further and further and I don't stop. I don't know where I'm going but any place other than here will be a blessing. I will be free. Free from my life, free from what holds me back. Free from who holds me back. Free from everything. My future, my past, my present. Free.
