I don't recognize myself in the mirror,
And sometimes I wonder
Is it for the better?
I never smile,
But it's not cause I don't like to-
I just never had it in me,
That happiness
That sunshine.
But something's changed.
I caught my reflection today
And I was smiling.
It was so odd,
Strange really.
I've never seen so much life in my eyes -
So much happiness
Where there's always been darkness-
And yet,
I liked it.
It felt good.
There's something reassuring
About that smile,
A smile that may seem so small,
And unimportant
Yet there's so much to it.
Somethings changing,
No.
Blooming in me
And it's perfectly fine.
In fact,
I welcome it.
