Chapter 3

"You pathetic weak little girl" the voice boomed as a kick threw me across the room.

I got back up almost immediately. He didn't like it when I stayed down for too long. I got into a fighting stance with my fist in front of my face.

No 10 year old should have to go through this.

"AGAIN!"

Three adult agents came towards me again. I was able to take down one of them but the other two were too strong for me.

They pinned me down and hit me in the stomach repeatedly.

Tears flooded my eyes

Why me?!

"ENOUGH" the voice boomed

Arkash came towards me as I sat up. Staring at me with a disgusted look on his face. He crouched down to my level staring at me in the eye.

"You'll never become a good agent." He hissed "You'll never he happy again you weakling"

Then his fist connected with my head and I blacked out.....

Staring at the ceiling different memories rushed through my head.

Till this day, I don't know why he hated me that much. I never did anything to him. He was just pure evil.

We have to stop him...

Even if it means working with the Kingfishers, so be it.

They might be unserious, but I heard they're really good at combat. I wouldn't know though, I haven't worked with them before.

I stood up and went to the bathroom to wash my face. I looked in the mirror. I don't remember a time where my eyes were full of life. They were always lethargic. My wild curls were packed into a ponytail almost reaching my waist.

Almost time for a haircut

My trail of thoughts were interrupted by my ringing phone.

Can't a girl get a break

"Agent R speaking"

"We apologize agent R but we need you to come to the training grounds right now" Lily's voice boomed through the phone.

I grabbed my jacket rushed to the training grounds. On approaching them I saw Jason and another man I couldn't recognize.

"Ah Rose I would like you to meet your temporary head. The head of the Kingfishers" said Lily

The Kingfishers' head looked between me and Jason and turned to Lily "They're rather young don't you think? You should know better than to send a couple of rookie teenagers after a criminal like Arkash"

Jason frowned while I raised an eyebrow.

Excuse me? Who're you calling rookie?

But I knew better than to talk back to superiors.

Lily chuckled " I assure you John the only thing keeping these two from gold is their age. They're matched with some of my greatest Gold Elites. Do not underestimate them"

John looked at us one more time "How old are you?"

"Twenty" I replied

"Twenty one" As soon as Jason replied. John had a thoughtful look on his face and faced Lily one more time.

"You said they're matched with some of your Gold agents right?"

"Certainly" Lily said with a smile on her face.

"Alright. I'll be expecting them tomorrow. Nice meeting you kids" he said as he was walking away.

How dare he.

Kids?!

I suppressed the urge to throw my combat boots at the back of his head. I closed my eyes and started to count.

"Rose can you come and help me pack...I hate packing" Jason said with a lazy smile on his face.

"Why?"

"Because I'm lazy"

I mentally face palmed. Only God knows my Jason is still my best friend. He was a total idiot.

"You can't be that lazy" I said as I walked into my room.

I took out my box and threw in a bunch of random things I might need.

Or not.

Then I took out another box for our weapons and gadgets. Knowing Jason he'll probably forget to pack them so I packed for two.

I took out my favorite weapon and I put it in the pocket of my everyday jacket.

My sweet lipstick taser

This jacket was black with a double R at the back. It also had the a silver crown at the left breast.

The crown is the elite logo. The silver crown is to show my rank.

After taking a long bath and throwing on Jason's T shirt and sweatpants, I crawled under the covers and went into a dreamless sleep.
