As soon as Max and I entered the training room, everywhere went silent, just as if they knew what was gonna happen.

They probably did.

"Choose your weapon Elite" said Max with a smirk

"I don't want to use any."

"Okay then."

We both went into battle stance.

I felt time slow down as he attacked first. I blocked his hits with ease.

He was relentless. He kept on coming at me with so much speed and force.

He was quite fast, and he showed a good amount of skill which fit his ranking as a gold agent.

I kept blocking his movements so I could study him till he became predictable.

And he did.

"Come on Elite" He said. "You've not even tried to attack me, it's like you're scared"

I know what he was trying to do. He was trying to use words to destabilize me.

Doesn't work on me

He attacked with a jab which I blocked and I hit his nose with the base of my palm.

His hands went to his nose immediately and I smiled.

Idiot

I punched his stomach which made him crouch down and I gave him a shin kick to the floating ribs which sent him to the floor.

I looked up to see Jason smiling at me with pride.

Then realization dawned upon me.

I just took down a gold agent.

In all my life I've never taken down a gold ranking agent. I've trained with them, but I never sparred with any of them.

And I just took one down without stress.

I never thought I could take him

Everyone was staring at me with wide eyes except Jason. It was like he expected me to win.

I'm glad I didn't disappoint

Jason
I watched my partner strut out of the training room, leaving all of us stunned.

Max stood up slowly clutching his bloody nose.

"I demand a rematch"

Aiden laughed loudly. "She didn't even have to stress herself to take you down, she's just going to beat you again"

"I will not be bested by a fûcking silver ranking little girl" Max said angrily

Now I know he didn't just call Rose a little girl.

"Stop being dramatic Max" Veronica rolled her eyes and sight "At least we know that they're competent enough to work with"

I walked out of the training room.

They were starting to piss me off

As I was walking out of the room, I bumped into someone

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there" said a familiar voice

I looked up and saw my worst enemy

The reason I didn't want to work with Kingfishers

William...

But who's William?
