We drove into the driveway and he pulled the key out of the ignition to look at me briefly. He wanted to say something but I shut it down as I opened my own door and got out. Before I could open the house door, Niq was coming out of it with a box of her things and walking to a car I hadn't noticed until now.

"You moving out?" I asked her as she came back and looked between me and Q. She shook her head. Completely not understanding my question as she eyed Q down with no shame. I could see the lust in her eyes and frowned up at her. I should've known after her and Ameira's one night stand that she'd be like this. Thirsty for anybody.

"I'm Niq. Ash's ex-girlfriend." She said holding out her hand to him. A smirk on her face as she eyed him hungrily.

"I'm Q. Asha-" He cleared his throat. "Ash's childhood friend." He corrected as I pinched his arm.  He shook her hand and pulled away when she lingered close to him.

"She never mentioned you at all." She said glancing my way questioningly. Why should I have? So you could run and tell that to my mom too? I thought to myself my anger boiling over dangerously close to the edge as she caressed his arm.

"Ah, Yeah. I figured. I kinda moved away without a word. Tried to reach out and ain't get nothing back. She's kinda stubborn like that." He said as he looked at me. I blushed and headed for the door. If he didn't follow behind me I'd drag him my damn self.

"Is. Anyway,  I'll talk with you later." I said to her rushing inside. She nodded back at me and waved goodbye to him before going and getting in on the passenger side. I walked in the house and stared at him silently after locking the front door behind me. He looked at me nonchalantly.

"What's up? I know when somethings bothering you." He said as a matter of fact.

"She likes you." I stated. He shrugged like it meant nothing.

"Yeah, and? You're all that matters to me." He took my hand in his and pulled me to him by my waist with his other. I looked down away from his eyes. I couldn't take looking into them. It hurt too much.

"Obviously not enough if-" He put his hand on my lip. Gesturing that we should keep it down. I sighed. I was tired of keeping this a secret. She had to know. How I felt about him and only him.

"I'll make it up to you in whatever way I can alright?" He said to me under his breath before pecking my lips and walking around the house until he'd stopped at my moms room door that had been wide open which was really unusual for her to do. He lingered there for a while before walking in.

"Ashay!! Ashay your moms not breathing! Call an ambulance!!" His scream pierced my soul the moment the words were out his mouth. Echoing inside the walls of my head until he was standing near me. His arms wrapped so tight around me I felt like I'd suffocate as I scratched and clawed at him to go see what he'd saw, but he was too strong for me to handle.

"Please let me see my mama! Please let me go!" I yelled hysterically at him. Tears streaming down my face once again as I continued to fight at him. This couldn't be real. She was alive. She had to be. I bit the arm he had held around me and he loosened up so I ran when I could.

"Ashay, no!" He yelled at me, but it was too late. I'd seen her unmoving naked body laid out on the bed. She looked to be asleep, but when I moved to see her face she was unrecognizable with a knot the size of a golf ball on her forehead, two black eyes, a busted lip and a gash in her jaw from what could have been Chris's ring finger. Overall her face wasn't hers. This couldn't have been her. This was a joke, but it wasn't. I saw the necklace I'd brought her from when I'd gotten my first job and the diamond earrings with her initials on them as if to let me know that it was her laying there lifeless.
