Navia's mom in POV

Navia POV

I could tell by the look on my mom's face that she couldn't believe the name that had fallen out of my mouth as I talked to the cop. I had lied to her. Not completely, but I still lied.

At first I didn't want her to look at him different, but now I didn't care. I didn't care how hard her eyes had became when I went on about the details that led up to him doing what he had done, what they had done. I wanted to leave out the part where we'd both gotten into bed together that day she walked in on us, but I didn't.

As much as the lady kept telling me it wasn't my fault, I couldn't believe that. I was the one that led him on. Nobody else but me.

"Thanks for your time. Is there any way that I could possibly get a hold of the young man? Do you know where he stays now?" The lady asked my mom. She shook her head still in shook and looked at me. I shook my head. If I knew I would definitely tell her.

"I only see him in school. I don't know." I admitted shrugging.

"It's okay sweetie. We'll stay alert. It's possible that he went and stayed in a shelter somewhere maybe with a friend." She said to me as she stood up. My mom stood up as well and walked her to the door talking in hushed tones before saying bye and shut the door closed. She came and sat beside me quietly.

"I should have known. I- when his mom put him out, he didn't seemed to be phased. Like he knew I'd- gawd." She sighed and put her head in her hands. I had nothing to say. What was there to say? That I did it? It was over? It might have been over for him, but it wasn't for me. I was still going to be having nightmares. I was already pushing people away.

"I can leave if-"

"You're fine baby." My mom said to Ash as she got up and rubbed her shoulder. Ash had stayed here even after Niq came back briefly with Ameira. When they saw the cop, they both turned around and left after Niq gave Ash her keys. I had no clue why though. She didn't need to be here. This was not her fight to fight.

"Why do you keep telling her not to leave? This isn't her house." I said to my mom as she left into the kitchen and busied herself with making food.

"Because this is my apartment and I get to choose what guest stays and goes." She said to me sternly. I scoffed.

"You weren't a good judge of that last time." I mumbled.

"Don't be disrespectful to your mom. She didn't do anything to you. If you want me to leave, just say it. Don't go around asking her why I'm still here. I'm out." She said in annoyance as she stood up. She slammed the door behind her after she left. My mom cussed out loud and started working even faster before coming to tell me to go to my room. It felt like a slap to the face, but I listened as I cried my eyes out. I had to face my fear and shut out the negative. I did that by shutting down and not eating when the food was ready.

For about a week or two my mom let it go on. Offering me snacks here and their to try to get me to eat something. I'd take them, but I still wouldn't eat food food.

Kia and Kendall noticed and told me to eat something. Ameira didn't bother trying to tell me what to do, but Ash was the most worried person out of all of them and Niq noticed that because Ash wasn't giving her the attention she deserved.

I honestly didn't care and even when I did eat something that I needed in my system, I'd throw it up. Not immediately, but I'd end up throwing it up. It wouldn't happen every day. Just a couple of times. I hadn't told my mom because she'd be at work when I got from school. When she was here, I acted like things were cool and took the snacks she offered me.
