"Nate!" Tristan and I looked up, squinting because of the sun, expecting to see Aiden. But it wasn't, it was someone I disliked more than Aiden."What do you want, Alex?" Tristan scowled, his hunter green eyes fiery in a millisecond. Alex Declan, everyone's favorite douchebag, sneered right back, "I wasn't talking to you, twink."
I stood up, stepping away from the picnic table, blowing air harshly through my nostrils and refusing the urge to strangle the guy. All I had to do was look at him, I swear. He finished his death stare match with Tristan before coming over closer to me. Tristan watched, but he pretended he wasn't there.
"What do you want, Alex?" I pulled flyaway hair behind my ear, it was slightly breezy and I wasn't wearing my hood, which was likely the reason he was looking at me weird.
"I don't think I've ever seen your hair before. It's cute," my mind immediately flashed back to Aiden in the car and I blushed. Why must everyone find some way to mortify me? I think he assumed he was the one who made this happen, because he smirked like he had won a battle, and stepped closer. "Heard you're a tutor now."
I raised a brow. Was Aiden actually bragging about that? Was he finding some way to make fun of me and spread it around? "That's what academic overachievers like to do for easy money."
"Ah," he nodded slowly, and I lowered both brows. "Alex. What do you want..." He stepped closer as if to answer my question. His deep green eyes didn't affect me like Aiden's crystal-like ones did, but I still couldn't look away. I must have an eye fetish, I don't know.
Although every time I saw Alex Declan I wanted to punch him in the face, I also was reminded of just how gorgeous that face was. How could someone be naturally sculpted so god-like? I shuddered when he placed a hand on my arm and another on my waist. "D'you mind having another customer? I'll pay you higher, and it'll be worth your while."
My eyes forcefully left his and looked at our contact. I looked back up at his face and mine fell as I came to my senses. "Sorry, I'm only doing one at a time. Maybe when Aiden doesn't need me anymore."
"Are you sure? You don't look like you want to just take one at a time." I began to pull away, but he tightened his grip. "C'mon, Nate."
"Let me go, Alex. I'm not in the mood and I'm busy."
"Busy doing what? When I came here I just saw you sitting there." I didn't like this. When Aiden forced me to hug him, it didn't feel as...uncomfortable. "Alex, let go." I pulled back but he pulled forward, I yelped as I was nearly pulled into his lips. How many times is this going to happen with us?
"Alex-"
"Hey, man," Aiden's usually sweet voice was suddenly sour cutting into my atmosphere behind me. I jumped, damn I startle easy, and I looked down at his face. His eyes were a slowly dimming light blue, a shadow of a scowl on his lips. "I think he said to let go. Now hands off." He snapped.
Alex's eyes narrowed, and they flickered downward. I looked down stupidly and saw Aiden's hand on my stomach. His arm around me. It was then I felt a whole new tension that I was completely left out of. Alex squeezed my hip once more before letting me go and winking at me, "let me know if you change you're mind."
"I won't, but thanks," I muttered as he walked off. I turned to Aiden and opened my mouth to thank him but his arm snaked tighter around my waist and I was pulled flush against his body for a second time. This time my arms went over his shoulders. "Um. I thought we agreed this was a one time thing?"
