Aiden

"What if she doesn't like me?" I mumbled out, not having had a single bite of food since breakfast, not a wink of sleep, and sweaty palms. Today was the day I had to meet Nate's aunt April and her husband, John. I know they weren't his parents, but they were practically that.

Nate shot me a very annoyed yet amused look over his shoulder as he zipped up the spare jeans he brought, he had spent the night. He sighed and came over to me, reaching around my neck to get my jacket hood from being tucked inward. Then he rested both hands on my shoulders. "Aiden. It's the fifth time you've asked me that. Calm down, you're going to be fine. I promise. Do you trust me?"

"Yeah," a surprised spark ignited in his eyes for a split moment. Sure, he admitted to liking me and accepted that I liked him, but he was still unused to the whole idea. He leaned in and after laying one on my lips, he pressed soft kisses down my neck. "I've noticed something." He murmured, his minty breath making me shiver.

"What?" I truly just wanted to stay here and curl up in the bed, holding my scary Nate. Not the other way around, unless I wanted to sleep. All it took was five minutes of him holding me and I was out like a light. It was the sound of his pounding heart, his steady breathing and the way he affectionately touched me. It felt like pure bliss to me.

But still, I wanted to meet his aunt. Take that unsaid step forward. For us.

"You're...very cute. You're terrible at hiding your emotions. You're a very nervous person. I like it. It makes me feel less fucked up."

"Don't say that. I think you're perfect, Nathaniel." He growled and bit the base of my neck before gently licking the ache he caused in the spot. He scowled in my face, but it was mixed with an honestly sexy smirk. "Shut up. Say too much of that stuff in front of my aunt and she might think you're up to something."

Immediately, I panicked. He saw the genuine fear in my eyes and gave me a forceful kiss. It was unlike others we shared; it was loaded with way more passion than usual—almost as if to reassure me. "Aiden, give me one reason she wouldn't like you."

"I'm not...good...at meeting parents."

"Well lucky for you; she's not my mother. Come on, we're gonna be late." He tucked his hands in his pockets and pivoted to leave my room. I followed him, feeling more cheeky because of that kiss. Caleb was standing in the kitchen in just his underwear, which is something that only he does, cooking afternoon waffles, like I absolutely love. Sadly, I must eat whatever Nate's aunt serves tonight.

"I hate your roommate. He makes me feel like a shit friend and a shittier...whatever I am to you." Nate waved off, eyeing Caleb for just a moment before reaching for the front door.

"Damn, and I thought we were friends." He shook his head, thought he had an amused smile as if he knew exactly what Nate was talking about. "Thank you, though." They glanced at each other and then at me before snickering. My brows furrowed. "What?"

"Your best friend's hot, Pattinson, and if you haven't noticed, I'm gay. Let's go, you beautiful naive man." Nate tugged on my jacket and opened the door. I gave Caleb a tiny possessive glare as we left and he just laughed at me.

In the car, he was driving, I mumbled. "He's not hotter than me."

He pursed his lips. "I enjoyed the sight of Caleb's body, but the difference between you is that I can touch yours."
