The next morning, I woke up alone in my bed. I knew he was still here, his pants were still on the floor and so was his shirt. I trusted he'd stay, anyway. Sleep lingered in my eyes and I laid there for awhile, feeling different than usual at this time of morning. It was ten.Maybe it was the fact that the last thing I saw before closing my eyes last night was Aiden snuggling into my chest. Or that with him in my arms, I had the best sleep I've ever had in years. Or that my apartment smelled hella delicious right now.
"Aiden?" I called loud enough for him to hear me wherever he was. He didn't respond, so I slid out of bed before quickly brushing my teeth and venturing off down the hallway. The man was in my kitchen, making my mouth water for so many different reasons.
"What...the hell are you doing?" I ran my fingers through my hair, it wasn't as tangled as usual, probably because Aiden kept me from tossing and turning all night.
His bright, and I mean bright; they almost looked white, icy blue eyes shifted to me and every light in the universe shined in them as he smiled proudly. "I'm making muffins."
I blinked. He was half naked, in my kitchen, making muffins? Was I dreaming, 'cause what the fuck? "Muffins?"
He nodded. "Blueberry. I figured the whole 'guy making you breakfast in the morning' thing was kinda cliche so...muffins." He blushed slightly then.
The corner of my mouth flicked upward. The fact that he actually took the time to think about this was...crazy, but a good crazy. "I've never had anyone make me anything in the mornings, so breakfast wouldn't be cliche to me. I like muffins, though. This is cute." I added that last thing because he seemed to be a little put down for not making breakfast anyway.
His cheeks turned a new shade of pink and I walked over to him, my eyes sweeping over his appearance again. I sat up on the counter next to the stove and he moved in front of me, making another move to get up high on his toes and kiss me but I placed a hand on his chest. "No, I'm afraid if you do that, you'll burn the muffins."
"You'd rather have muffins than kiss me?" He pouted. I sighed, brushing a few curls out of his eyes. "Why can't I have both? I can have perfectly baked muffins now and kiss you later."
"It's a matter of import—" suddenly there was a knock at the door. I figured it was just Finn returning Bear, but when I jumped off the counter and opened the door, my eyes widened at Tristan and Caleb. "Um."
Tristan looked over my outfit, I was glad I had pulled my sweater back on since it was on the floor near the door. Wish I could say the same for Aiden, all of his clothes were scattered in my bedroom. Oh god, that sounded so bad. "Is Aiden here?" I opened my mouth to say yes as innocently as I could, but that idiot's footsteps could be heard as he was running back to my room to put on clothes. "I think that's a yes, Triss." Caleb laughed.
"That...was Bear. He's getting fat."
Tristan narrowed his eyes. Why was he suddenly all suspicious? "Uh huh." He and Caleb pushed past me and I let it happen, I closed the door and fidgeted with my fingers while my oversized sweater sleeves hid them. Aiden came out of my bedroom fully clothed. Just...in my clothes. He was wearing an oversized shirt of mine, which fit pretty much just as big on him, and my oversized sweatpants, which also fit kinda big on him. Damn, that's convenient. "Hola." He chirped, trying to not seem out of breath but he was pretty much failing.
