(AU) Scott's students finally meet his husband.
****
"Good morning," Scott greets when he sees the students already lining up at his classroom door.
"It's a Monday morning. How can you be so... happy and shit?"
Scott laughs loudly. "Lovely choice of words, Dillion," he says as he unlocks the door. Scott's one of the few teachers who don't care about his students, though there are certain words he doesn't allow in class. "I had a wonderful weekend. That's the only reason why I'm smiling this morning."
"Does it have to do with the wedding ring on your hand?" Another student asks.
"Oh, that?" Scott smiles as he looks down at the ring on his finger, unable to stop himself from blushing. "Possibly." He walks into the classroom. "Angie, you're in charge of feeding the fish this morning."
"Yes!" Angie jumps excitedly before running over to the fish tank in the back.
"You always go on and on about this partner of yours. How come we haven't met him yet?" Dillion asks.
Scott raises his eyebrows as he looks over at the younger boy. "I didn't know you were interested?"
"Everybody is interested, Mr. Hoying," Dillion says, grinning.
"Oh, I'm no longer going by Hoying. It's Mr. Manio from now on," Scott tells him, smiling.
"I've never even met this guy but I just know you two are couple goals," Angie adds.
Scott laughs. "You two are ridiculous," he says, placing his bag on his desk. He looks over and smiles when more students start piling into his classroom. "Good morning Olivia. Jane."
"Good morning Mr. Hoying!"
"He's going by Mr. Manio now," Dillion tells the other girls.
Olivia gasps. "You got married, Mr. Hoying?" She asks excitedly.
Scott chuckles and shakes his head. "It's going to be a long day," he says. He grabs a chalkboard marker and eraser, and erases where 'Mr. Hoying' was previously written, and writes 'Mr. Manio' instead.
"Mr. Hoy- oh, you got married? Congratulations, Mr. Hoying!"
"Thank you, Alexander," Scott smiles as he looks up at the boy. He knew most of his students were supportive, and none of them were against his relationship. But, he never expected this kind of support.
Every morning after the bell rings and announcements were said, Scott allows the class to sit and relax for about ten minutes before actually starting. Especially on Monday mornings.
Scott looks over when the door suddenly opens, and can't help the smile on his face when he sees that it's his husband walking through the door. "Hey. What are you doing here?"
"You forgot your phone at home. I figured I'd bring it to you. It's pretty important,"
"Thank you, Mark. I definitely need that," Scott says as he takes the phone.
"I'm sorry for interrupting your class. I dropped it off at the office but uh, they said to just bring it here," Mark says, blushing when he sees all the eyes that were on him.
"That's okay. We were just talking about you," Scott says. He blinks a few times when there's a gasp.
"You were talking about me?" Mark asks, raising his eyebrows. "Should I be worried?"
"Of course not. They were good things," Scott grins as he looks up at Mark.
"Is that your husband?" One of the students ask.
Scott laughs. "Yes, this is my husband. Class, this is Mark. Mark, this is my class," he says.
"What did I tell you?" Angie asks, throwing her arms up. "Couple. Goals."
"He's a fucking model, is what he is," another students says.
"Hey!" Scott warns, instantly looking up at the students. "I know I allow swearing in my classroom. But... didn't I also warn you not to use that word." He stands up, and then he leads Mark out of the classroom. "Sorry about that... they can be a little..."
"It's okay," Mark chuckles, and kisses Scott's cheek. "You always tell me stories about your students, and now I can actually understand why you adore them so much."
Scott beams. "I'll see you at dinner tonight?"
"Of course I will," Mark smiles and kisses Scott. "Behave yourself today."
"You know I can't make any promises," Scott grins. "Now go. You'll be late for your first modelling gig."
Mark grins, and then he turns around and heads down the hallway.
