(Fluff) Scott introduces Mitch to his boyfriends.
****
Scott takes deep breaths as he passes back and forth in front of the front door, waiting for his boyfriends to come over so they can finally meet Mitch, his best friend. He's incredibly nervous about them meeting.
Scott's never been in a throuple before, so this is all completely new to him.
However, he absolutely adores Mark and Mason. They've only been together for a couple of months now, yet Scott already knows that he's in love with both of them. He's late to the relationship, Mark and Mason have already been dating four years prior, before Scott had joined the two of them. But, despite all of that, he's already gotten to know them quite well and he's confident that they'll make this relationship work.
But, if Mark and Mason don't get along with Mitch, or if Mitch doesn't like his boyfriends, Scott doesn't know what he'll do. Mitch is his best friend. He wants his best friend to be able to get along with his boyfriends. It's difficult introducing your boyfriend to someone already, but now Scott has to worry about not one boyfriend but two. He just wants everything to go well.
"Scott, what are you doing?"
Scott jumps at the sudden voice and looks over, and sighs in relief when he sees that it's just Mitch.
"Oh, um... is this about Mark and Mason?" Mitch asks curiously, walking closer to Scott. "Because, everything is going to be totally fine. You do know how I feel about polyamory relationships, right? I mean, it's not for me personally, but I support you no matter what as long as you're happy," Mitch says.
Scott chuckles nervously. "This is just... so completely brand new to me. I'm experiencing so many firsts with Mark and Mason. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it's nerve wracking, you know?" He shrugs.
"Yeah. That's totally understandable. At least you've already been with them for a few months, right? Although, I am a little disappointed I'm only just finding out," Mitch crosses his arms against his chest.
"Hey, don't be mad. I just wanted to make sure that this was going to work," Scott defends.
"And, how do you feel about that now?" Mitch asks, raising his eyebrows.
A smile forms on Scott's face without hesitation, and Mitch already knows his answer. "There's absolutely no doubt in my mind. I love them both so much. We've really got it down to a science now I feel like. We've talked about it so many times. We make sure nobody feels left out," he tells Mitch.
"What about, when you go on tour? They'll be together and you'll be all alone?" Mitch frowns.
"I mean, of course I'll miss them. But, there's always FaceTime. They'll come see me whenever they can, and I won't be so lonely because there's like a million people on tour that I can hang out with, y'know?"
Both Scott and Mitch look up when they hear knocking at the door.
"Oh, God," Scott whines. "I don't think I can do this. I really don't." He looks over at Mitch with wide eyes.
"Scott," Mitch chuckles and he shakes his head. He pushes Scott towards the door. "Open the damn door. Trust me, everything is going to be fine. You have to give them a chance."
Scott takes a deep breath before reaching over and finally opening the door. He looks up and almost instantly his eyes light up when he sees Mark and Mason standing in front of him. "Oh my gosh. Finally! I've been waiting forever for you to get here!"
"Forever? Define forever," Mason says, before laughing when Scott pulls them both into a hug.
Scott pulls away and gives them both a kiss, before allowing them inside the house.
"Guys, um... this is Mitch," Scott says once they're al inside. "I mean, I know you know who he is, but still, he's my best friend. We work together a lot so you'll be seeing him a lot more now."
"Of course we know who he is. I'm just disappointed that we're only just meeting him!" Mark exclaims.
"That's what I said!" Mitch smiles as he walks up to the two.
Mark smiles and shakes hands with Mitch. "Nice to finally meet you. We've heard so much about you,"
"Literally. Scott can't go thirty seconds without talking about you," Mason chuckles. "Nice to meet you too. I'm Mason, and that's Mark." There's a smile on his face as he looks over at Mark, like he's proud to introduce Mark as his boyfriend. Mitch thinks that's extremely cute.
Mitch laughs. "Aw, I love Scotty," he says. "He always says sweet things about me."
"Guys," Scott blushes. "I just like talking about my friends. What's so bad about that?"
"Nothing's wrong with it. You're just a big old teddy bear is all," Mitch chuckles, and then he looks over at Mark and Mason. "Why don't we go sit in the living room? Maybe we can order some food, and just chill."
"Sounds good to me," Mark nods and looks over at Scott.
Scott smiles and nods in agreement. "Yeah, let's do that," he says before he grabs a hold of Mason's arm and holds onto it as they walk towards the living room. Mark, Mason and Scott sit together on the couch.
Mark is lazily resting against the armchair of the couch with Scott leaning against his chest comfortably, and Mason is sitting next to them, with Scott's legs resting on Mason's lap.
"So," Mitch begins as he sits down on the couch as well. "I have a question."
"Okay, fire away," Scott says as he looks over at Mitch.
"How does a threesome work?" Mitch asks curiously.
Scott's eyes widen at Mitch's bold question as his face reddens. "Mitchell Grassi!"
Mitch laughs at Scott's embarrassment. "What? I'm just asking a simple question," he says.
"Um, well-" Mark looks over at Scott and Mason. "It's... complicated. I guess. We make it work though."
"I cannot believe we're having this conversation right now," Scott covers his face with his hands.
"Wait, you've only been together for a few months and you've already had sex? Damn, you're quick,"
"Hey! We've been together for eight months. And, we waited," Scott defends, looking up at Mitch. "It's not like we just immediately started having sex with each other. That's not what our relationship is about."
"It's true," Mason agrees. "Although, the sex is a bonus."
"Mace!" Scott reaches over and shoves him playfully. "We are not talking about our sex life with Mitch."
"I don't know about you, but I think this introduction went great," Mitch grins at the three boys.
Scott lets out a laugh and throws a pillow at Mitch. "You're the worst,"
Mitch he looks up at Scott and he can't help but smile at the three boys. He hasn't seen Scott this happy in a long time, and it makes him happy that Scott found two people that gives him the love he deserves.
