MOON FESTIVAL

Friday, finally it's here, I ran home from school to make the drive early to the location of the festival to let everything set up before I pick Sophie later.

I was putting everything in the car to head out when dad saw me struggling with the packages I was carrying.

He came up to me and took the tent from my hands to help out. "Son, i want you to have fun at the festival, but more importantly..." he said making a pause, does he want to give me the sex talk again or something. He looked slightly uncomfortable but then he cleared his throat and announced "Your mother and I would like to officially meet this girl that has finally tamed you" and there it is, he came cause mom asked him, she is clearly the one that wants to meet her but asked my dad to do the dirty work instead.

Giving him a toothy grin I said "I'll bring her over after the festival on Sunday, we can have dinner before I drop her off at her house, does that sound good?" I couldn't be more exited, yet nervous at the same time, my dad hugged me and patted me on the back clearly happy with my proposal, I think he didn't expect me to react so well to his request, but then again he doesn't know about my plans.

We ended up making plans of how we were gonna surprise mom when I bring her over. I mean, it's not like every day I get to introduce to my family my new girlfriend. YES I said it, after today, we are not gonna hang or just go out anymore, today is THE day, am gonna ask SOPHIE MARIE KENNEDY, the girl that makes my breath stop every time I see her, the one that makes me feel lighter just by her presence, the one who makes me want to be the greatest man on earth for her, today, she will be mine. Officially.

I made my way to the camp site where the festival was-. I found a great spot near a tree in the forest were we would be near enough the festivities, but far enough to have privacy so that I can I have everything set up to ask her the question.

I left everything perfectly arranged, the tent, the sleeping bags with a good air mattress to have more confort, I even hanged some strings of led lights, that I read online were popular among girls to have the romantic ambient I was going for. 

I left everything closed up and looked a the time. It was still early to pick up Sophie, so I decided to text her to see what she was up to, maybe I could hang with her before we drive u here.

I asker if she was excited and mentioned that I wanted to pick her up early, but then she mentioned having a crisis, I might have had a little stroke there, but thankfully it was just as she put it a 'fashion emergency', I sighted finally getting calmer, but then I thought maybe I could just accompany her, I mean anything to just spend more time around her, heck it might even make me sound like a total puss, but I just want to be around the girl Im falling in love with, i guess when people say love makes you stupid, cause for the life of me I rather shit on my own hands and clap, than spend an hour shopping but I guess that also changed with the French beauty.

Sophie told me to just meet her at 7, which obviously I replied ok. It was almost 6:30pm when I just could not wait any longer as I made my way pick to her up, but to my great luck instead of her answering the door her father was there instead. I guess she'll never answer the door for me.

"Hello sir, am here to pick up your daughter" I said trying to remain my cool, the man looked at me and smiled moving to the side inviting me in.

I could hear Sophie talking, she must be in her room, I was too distracted to notice her father eyeing me suspiciously.

"Look kid, I proud myself in being good at reading people, thats how my business has succeeded, so am just gonna say this once, you better look after my child, because last time she went out with you, it didn't end up so brightly" feeling a weight in my chest I remembered how I failed last time to bring her home safely, but I would not do so again. "Don't worry about It sir, I will care for her with my life" I said with confidence.

He was about to say something else when Sophie got to my side and hugged me. I really hope this feeling of completeness never leaves, cause that's just how this girl makes me feel.

"What did you do Daddy?" Sophie asked her father.

"Nothing sweetie, I just said that if anything happens to you again your brother and I will hunt him down with riffles"  I might have gulped nervously but I quickly recovered and said " like I said sir I'll care for her with my life"

Out of the blue Sophie just laughed loudly making us all looked at her in awe, her giggles had the power to change the entire mood of the place. We went from tense to jokingly say our goodbyes to her dad and brother. It might have been my imagination but I think her dad threaten to chop my balls off if I tried any funny business or something, which of course I took very serious, but at that point I bolted as soon as i could with the excuse to put Soph's bag in the car.

"So Sophie are you ready for the fun?" She beamed with a beautiful smile on her face as she nodded. I put all of our stuff inside the tent and lead her to the center of the forest where the activities took place.

'WELCOME TO THE 2019 MOON FESTIVAL' said the banner at the center stage planted perfectly between huge trees that gave the whole thing a mythical look.

I took Sophie's hand we listened to all the security measures taken on the place. I finally told her about what this event was about, to which she listened intently. "it all actually started on a tradition that had almost 300 years old, it celebrated the moon blessings to the people in a whole weekend where everyone camped celebrating, eating and rejoicing in the marvels of the forest. But as time went by a music festival with some group activities was stated instead, and it all ended on Saturday night with the Goddess dance which am sure your brother filled you in already is the biggest event of the weekend"

I showed her to the different areas that has already people swarming to enjoy the bonfire music delivered by famous artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Anne Marie, and who knows how many others, she was fascinated with the fairy like set up, cause this wasn't like any other shows artists ever put on, no this are intimate gatherings where the performers where in small scenarios surrounded by minimal lights, mainly the stars, bonfires and some fireflies that were brought specially for this.

We decided to stop at the show by the clearing where James bay was strumming his guitar the song us in the middle of a dance space where couples where slow dancing to the rhythm of 'let it go'

She grabbed my hand we started to move out bodies with her arms about my neck though the made up space to dance, I have never been a guy that appreciated a slow dance, I think men are not made for this, but right this second with her, I think it just clicked something within me, I looked at her, and it wasn't just her amazing figure, or the way her smile made me feel like the luckiest bastard on earth, it's her personality, her ability to always see the bright in things, how she can always surprise me in the best way, and I think I just know it now... I love her. I am certainly in love with her.

I hugged her tightly, she rested her head in my shoulder slowly pampering kisses to my collarbone. I gabbed her waist tightly and hosted her up kissing her delicious lips softly, how can she possibly taste so sweet? am so fucked if she doesn't want to be my girlfriend, I think I might just crack. "Thank you for bringing me here Alexander" I just smiled at her as we continued soaring with the songs.

After a few dances and us getting some food from one of the food trucks we decided to call it a night to get up early tomorrow to participate in the events and of course to attend the dance.
