Syd and Harrison were quick friends after that. She hadn't told him about her past life yet. And he hadn't told her about all the dirty details. But they could both trust each other that it didn't matter to them yet.
Although Syd took a different approach to Cheryl. She took the vandalism on her locker as a sign to steer clear from Ms.Bombshell. She could understand that losing Jason had to hit Cheryl harder than it hit anyone else. Syd chalked it up to the fact that sh was grieving. She could excuse some of it.
But Syd knows that soon enough that either one of them will crack under too much pressure. And Syd doesn't want to crack again. Not like before. As long as it's in her control she won't let it get to that point.
