one (i.) || syd sees snakes
Tensions were at an all time high at Riverdale. With the serial killer on the loose and everyone a sitting target it wasn't hard to understand why. I probably choose the wrong time to come back but I doubt my mother would have let me take a raincheck on her deal.
I pushed my textbook for math into my locker and shut it keeping my notebook for english in my hands. What I wasn't expecting was someone right next to me right after.
It was the girl who wrote on my locker. As of recent events I found out her name was Midge Klump. She was the girl who was with Moose who got shot. I don't need her to know that I know her name yet.
"Hi!" She smiled with bright eyes. "I know you remember me from doing the whole- locker thing."
I nodded my head casually.
"Well I just wanted to apologize. I mean what I did was wrong, and I didn't do it because I thought it was true. I know you don't suck. But Cheryl was kind of on the fence with you so I was acting as her minion." She actually apologized- and it sounded sincere. It sounded like she actually cared.
"Highschool is a bitch. I know why you did it. And thanks for the apology, but I still don't know your name." I said to her, leaning against my locker.
"Oh! Sorry, it's Midge!" She stuck out her hand for me to shake.
I took it and shook it.
"Syd. Clean slate yeah?" I asked her and she nodded eagerly.
With that she left my locker as quick as she probably came. I watched her leave down the hall and waited until she was gone before taking out my phone to text Harry.
'seems like Cheryl called off her minions for good.'
As I waited a response I began to walk to English. I managed to not bump into anyone on my way there and as I got to the classroom door my phone buzzed.
'they knew they couldn't stand a chance against you and me. harry and sydy is too powerful'
'did you just call me sydy?'
'fight me?'

I shut the door behind Mr.Andrews, our last costumer of the night. It was me and Harrison for this weekend while my grandma visited my mother upstate. Apparently she trusts me more than my own mother, because I know for a fact my mother would not leave me unattended for more than twenty four hours.
Locking the door I walk over to Harrison who's at the counter. He's packing up the last of the unsold pastries so we can give it to the cops down at the department. I would prefer to give it to those in need but the shelter isn't open.
"Hey so I was gonna ask what you're doing later tonight." He spoke as he bagged one of my favorite treats. Yeah, no cop was gonna deny me my sugary sweetness. I grabbed the chocolate croissant from him and held it close to me.
He laughed at my actions.
"Nothing of course. I'm trying to remain innocent this weekend, for my grandma's sake." I shrugged my shoulders and began to dig into the croissant. With my mouth full I looked at him. "Why what are you doing?"
He chuckled a little bit.
"Theres a hangout happening with some friends of mine. Wanna join in?" Harrison packed the last of the treats and sealed the bag.
"You have friends other than me?" I asked jokingly while still paying attention to the croissant more than him at the moment.
"Ha ha very funny. Yes I do. And I've talked about you and they are willing to meet you." I stopped eating and placed my full attention on him once he said that. He talks about me with his friends?
"The southside serpents want to meet me? Well looks like I'm about to be the topic of conversation again." As soon as I said it his eyebrows shot up. "It's fine. Your friends could be my friends. I'm down."
"Cool, you might want to wear a short sleeve it get's hot at the wrym."
I looked down at my top. Long sleeves. Have I been wearing long sleeves this whole time? Sweaters and jackets? Oh my god- he's gonna see some of my tattoos. Well I guess if he's introducing me to his friends it's about that time.
-
We pulled up on his motorcycle to the hangout spot. I'm surprised that this is my first time on the southside. Not to say that I thought I'd come here when I first got into town. But I didn't think I'd be on this good girl thing for this long.
"So this is the part where you get off." Harrison looked back at me with a way too big smile.
I unwrapped my sweater covered hands from around his waist. I figure the big tattoo reveal can wait until we're inside. Slowly I stood from the bike and took his helmet off from my head. I watched as he did the same and then cut the engine to his bike.
Harrison looked at me and held out his hand. "It's time to meet the snakes."
I took his hand happily.
We walked into the place intertwined with each other and as soon as we stepped through the door it seemed like everyone inside had their eyes on us. I could see three people specifically begin to walk our way.
A girl with brown and pink hair looked straight at me. "So you're Syd?"
I nodded my head and stuck my hand out. "In the flesh. I hope he didn't set your standards to high for me."
She laughed at that and took my hand to shake. "Actually I think this beats the girl I was thinking about in my head. My name's Toni."
"Mines too. I'm Fangs." The guy to the left of the girl sounded, snatching my hand away from hers to shake.
"Nice to meet you." I chuckled at how eager he was.
"Sweet Pea." The tall one said and I simply waved at him.
"Okay try not to break her Fogarty." Harrison ordered as he patted him on the shoulder.
And I guess now was the time to show him the true me. As soon as Fangs let go of my hand I unzipped my sweater and took it off. I don't have much tattoos but the ones I do have on my arms would make me stand out on the northside.
I don't look at any of their faces as I take off my sweater, besides Harrison. I watch as his eyes went wide at first and then a small smirk started to display on his lips.
"Dude- why didn't you introduce her sooner! Look at the tats!"
