Finally, the day was over and I could now go back to my cozy house. The dust clung to me like a second skin but I ignored it for the time being. Ahead, the single narrow street was enchanting me with its golden lights and the glint of many embellished antiques was making my heart beat faster. Anything that sparkled naturally grabbed my attention and sharpened my vision.

The street was packed. Few people were busy in negotiations while others simply strolled and browsed.

This street was famously called 'Twinkle in the Eye'. It was also considered to be an overpriced market. Though the things were expensive, however, Ohnahn's were also natural bargainers. The deals took time to close and when they did, the valued price was always lowered to its half rate.

I turned my face from side to side and greedily took in all the new entries for tonight. From tinted glass jewelry to crystal beaded pants, it had everything.

But my eye caught a round dragon eye pendant which was glowing bright blue. I didn't know what about it made me stop but there seemed to be something magical about the piece nonetheless. Carefully, I edged closer and slowly picked the pendant from its black stone encasing.

"Only for 17 silver coins, arrived just today from the mystical waters of Degish planet," the trader said enthusiastically.

But I was too dazed, too hooked on the glowing eye. Fulfilling an unspoken command, I brought it up to my face. The moment our eyes locked, the vision took hold of me.

A handsome, tall man stood staring at me. His intense gray eyes made me shiver. Shoulder-length brown hair softly blew but his stance remained rigid. My mind suddenly emptied and a single thought 'Future' whispered in the air. I was trapped helplessly in the vision which continued for the longest minute. Still, I was not ready for the eclipse that suddenly appeared between us.

Moving my eyes frantically in the present, I looked at the plain footpath with unclear eyes. Taking a moment to right myself, I clenched the pendant a little tight for a moment before returning it back to its place.

"Then I will pack it in a leather paper for you," the trader must have been speaking to me when I was obviously lost in the trance because he started packing it immediately.

"Wait, no, I don't like it. I don't need it," I urgently stopped him with my sharp tone.

"Then choose something else, I happen to have it in one other color. Let me bring it, wait," he hurriedly ventured inside.

I hurriedly walked away and only when I was at the end of the street, did he scream, "I found it. Come, take a look."

My heart beating fast and my brain weirdly vacant of thoughts, I ran the rest of the way till I reached my home.

Unlocking the front door, I panted and turned toward my bedroom and laid down.

"What was that?" I asked out loud. After a moment of my brain malfunction, the first familiarity struck my mind.

He is the king. King Fizayer.

But why did he appear in my vision? It was disconcerting to even think that the king of this planet came into my vision, no less stared at me for the longest minute of my life.

"I don't understand," I exclaimed.

Although, I didn't follow the king and his politics like other people, however, I was also not as ignorant of him as I would like to be.

Given the change in laws he frequently made, there was no choice but to keep myself updated.

I sure had not seen him since his coronation ceremony when I was only a teenager. At that time, I was just happy that our planet was free from the long, bloody war.

But that was the extent of my knowledge of him. I never ignored the importance of visions and dreams but this time, I would let it slide because it didn't make any goddamn sense.

Completely ignoring the dampness of my underwear, I stripped and filled the tub with cold water. Dipping my toes, I steadied myself and with a deep breath, I sat down and watched my floating toes on the other end.

I wanted to close my eyes but I was frightful of the image that my mind was all ready to conjure. I couldn't get into a new mess right now that might take my wayward thoughts to a whole different level.

So, I just relaxed with my eyes opened and restricted my mind to think about anything. A faded echo of the future penetrated my thin restraint and I took an anxious breath.

Resolve already broke, I tilted my head and closed my eyes. Consuming gray eyes of the king welcomed me and once again I fell into a willing trance.

No! It was wrong. I shook myself out of it.

The vision had fucked up. Maybe someone else was supposed to pick up that dragon eye pendant. But these self-doubts did not bode well with my psyche. I didn't do doubts. So, I guess I just have to wait for another vision.

With an unsettled heart, I patted myself dry and wore the thinnest nightgown I could find. Unwillingly, I walked to my mirror and stared at my concerned ice blue eyes. And just like that, another vision abducted me and took me to the king.

The King was on his bed, nude, panting, and not alone, but with a beautiful woman who had the blissful expression on her face. He suddenly opened his eyes and once again our eyes interlocked. This time though, feeling oddly betrayed, I ignored his wonder-filled eyes and stared at the woman beside him instead.

But the vision pushed me out roughly.

Immediately, I turned away from the mirror.

This was nuts. Two visions in one day. Should I count myself lucky? With what I just saw, I was nowhere feeling lucky. Crossed, more like it.

I frowned and dimmed the lights in my room. I started to count numbers backward till my eyes grew heavy in sync with the beat of my heart.
