While I could feel stress coming in waves from Imeeshi, I waited unperturbed. This was not a common occurrence. My parents had recounted their recognizent story many times. The moment they stepped on the footprints, the two halves made the circle. They fell in love with each other more at that point.

But my love was already brimming for my bride who for some reason was shaking and doubting herself. I wanted to console her but I had to finish this.

Ten minutes turned to twenty, still, the recognizent remained frozen, almost unimpressed with our union.

My mother must be worried sick by now. I frowned and stepped back. I went to Imeeshi who watched me approach in fear.

Gently, I clutched her elbow and nudged her frozen feet toward the sidewall. I looked at her and noticed the deep worry lines. I hugged her tightly. She must be feeling overwhelmed. Maybe I should have prepared her for this.

But with all the excitement that happened these last two days and in our life so far, we were never left alone for too long.

I softly massaged her nape and talked. Taking her with me, I slid down with my back against the wall and Imeeshi on my lap.

Her head rested below my chin. I asked softly, "How are you feeling?"

She didn't answer for a long time but when she did I cursed myself.

"Lonely," she whispered.

I took a deep breath, "I know it's been a circus till now. We didn't talk, we didn't spend too much time together. You were thrust into my life right from the beginning. I wish I could decelerate the hectic pace of my life but time is of the essence here and I'm always short of it."

I continued, "When I look at you Imeeshi I see a familiarity. And I apologize, I left everything on that easy familiarity. I gave too much importance to the past and what we had rather than building on the now and what we have."

She gripped me tightly, "It's okay Fizayer. I understand now. Your life is not simple. I questioned you and your ways from the beginning but our past glued us together. I too have been putting my hopes on that... barely thinking on the present."

I lifted her beautiful face, kissed her softly on the mouth. We stood and looked at each other. Searched for the understanding and the forgiveness we so wanted from each other right now.

Mentally keeping the track of time, I nudged her to resume the position. We saw each other through the gap again. The energy had changed. Our eyes were clearer and so was our intent. We smiled.

Soon enough, the two halves silently met in the middle and made a blue circle.

If Imeeshi's eyes got any bigger, I wouldn't be able to stop my laughter. Already, my eyes crinkled. Imeeshi huffed.

I walked toward her, smoothed out the few wrinkles on her gown.

"You ready?" I asked softly.

"Yes," she whispered.

We emerged out of the curtains with a smile. The cheer was deafening. We crossed the platform and watched the scene below.

Everybody was happy, some openly crying, others holding them in.

The dais started descending. The various cheers sobered, died to only one chant.

*The Queen*
*The Queen*
*The Queen*

As the dais descended, the occupants in the hall including my parents, one by one, bowed down. I looked at Imeeshi who now looked at the people in a new light. Someone to rule and to protect.

The moment, our dais touched the ground, the chant changed to *The Match*

I whispered to Imeeshi, "You're my match, my aqeruh, my queen. Never doubt yourself again."

She looked at me and nodded. We stepped down to mingle around because the ceremony was now complete.

By the time the morning came, we were passed out in the room that was decorated for us.

Out of all the first nights I had spent with her, this was my favorite. Because it made her completely mine.

I kissed her shoulder and curled my leg, tangling both her legs under mine.
