The moment I entered Sitaria, I was met by a horde of people and noise. This was the reason I never made an appearance in public places.
Still, the energy and excitement tugged at my rigid form. I grinned and got out of my royal Aircar. People lined up neatly on both sides. I made an effort to give equal attention to every single one of them.
Calmone was trailing me with the guards. The Master immediately disappeared after we entered his hometown. He had promised to meet me at Sitaria's royal house. He would bring Imeeshi with him. And that was the only reason I allowed him to go.
If he failed to bring her, I would personally torture him or maybe I would give him to Constel. Yes! That was a better option.
The anticipation had been building up since yesterday. I couldn't sleep at all. At the crack of dawn, I notified my strategist that we would be leaving in an hour. The visions played out throughout the ride.
I couldn't focus my attention on Calmone who was explaining my schedule and giving me the sense of what to expect if the neighboring leaders chose to make an appearance in the royal house.
Ice blue eyes and raven hair dominated the three-quarters of my brain. The remaining one was functioning on autopilot.
The street was not too long but it sure was narrow. I was told it was the famous street of Sitaria because of its night market. I was almost at the end of the street when the Aircar lowered enough for me to enter.
I raised my hand for the people and stepped inside. Silence enveloped me and I thanked the Gods for the soundproof vehicle. Small gifts of power.
Leaving behind the reception, I prepared myself for another one at the house which came into view too soon. The guards got out first to scope out any unusual activity. I stepped down when Calmone signaled me.
Immediately, the head of Sitaria welcomed me with a smile and presented me with a rare brown gem local to this place. I accepted the gift with a smile and asked his name. "Triph," he answered. He followed me around like a puppy and chattered incessantly.
It bored me to tears to listen to the achievements of his province. These matters were best left for Calmone. But the diplomacy, unfortunately, fell into my hands in the beginning. I nodded at the right places and smiled my appreciation.
Calmone interfered subtly and I breathed out in relief. The house head servant bowed deeply when we entered and patiently trailed at the end.
I called him. He materialized before me in haste. "Show me to my room," I demanded. I allowed him to lead the rest of the way. The house was grand, so much so that it was exhausting or maybe my own urgency was making me impatient.
The room with a mirror door was mine. The large entrance slid upwards and alone I entered. I walked to the glass balcony and admired the lake that was almost glittering under the blue sun. Some fifty-odd small neon fish outlined the cloud-shaped lake.
It was mesmerizing to watch. Calmone entered the room and held the glass railing beside me. "Pretty, isn't it?" He murmured. The moment broke and I nodded.
"Where is the Master?" I asked.
"I've messaged him but haven't got any answer yet."
My hands tightened, "Message him again. Warn him this time. If he doesn't answer in ten, send guards after him."
"I advise you to not be so harsh and unnecessarily hurry. Let's wait for a while. If he doesn't report back till noon, we'll send guards then," Calmone insisted.
