The rest of the court session went smoothly and silently. I could see unbelievable gazes shift from me to Imeeshi more than once. Caught between openly gawking to consciously averting their eyes. Nevertheless, it was a source of amusement for Constel.

I could also feel their anticipation. But I wasn't going to announce anything other than the official marriage ceremony itself.

The moment I saw Imeeshi standing at the far end of the courtroom, timidly waiting by the door, I wanted to run to her and hug her tight.

But I couldn't. Simply because I had a certain image to uphold. Any weakness would be catastrophic, especially at this point when I had just uncovered a deceitful act of some of my warriors.

However, I was proud. The way Imeeshi held herself, didn't resist my order, and sat with her back straight, I reckoned she was a natural.

She might think of herself inadequate but I saw great potential in her to become an exceptional queen. And she would. Sooner rather than later.

The news must have already traveled to Behishah by now. That meant more protective measures needed to be taken. I wouldn't let anybody come near her. The three-fold defense needed to be activated.

Imeeshi was silent by my side. We walked to our home. What was she thinking?

I decided to give her space and time to process what had just happened.

Calmone strode from the opposite direction. We met halfway. He inclined his head to Imeeshi first and then to me. His champion status would always take precedence now.

"I'm glad you're back, my queen," Calmone said.

"I'm glad I'm back too, Calmone," Imeeshi replied with a smile.

"I wanted to apologize for not being with you at the royal outhouse," Calmone added.

I knew he still felt it was his fault. Although, it was mine.

She shook her head and replied softly, "It wasn't your fault Calmone. There is no need to apologize. Whatever happens, happens for a reason."

I squeezed Calmone's shoulder to let him know that he needed to let this go. He was forgiven. He nodded.

"So, how do you feel? Everybody knows that you're now their queen," Calmone asked what I wanted to ask.

I waited for her answer. Her long pause squeezed my heart.

"I feel elevated and humbled. I think it was the perfect time for me to step up. All thanks to Fizayer who encouraged me. Although I know he feels it wasn't perfect. But I want to assure him this is what I needed."

I looked at her and felt love filling my chest. She knew what I was thinking. How could she ever think less of herself? Didn't she know she was perfect already?

Calmone cleared his throat, "I'm very happy to hear that. And I can say that for the king here too who has been rendered speechless."

He chuckled and I smirked at his attempt to mellow my intensity. Bidding him goodbye, we resumed our walk in silence.

Reaching our room, we were welcomed with a huge spread in the dining area. Imeeshi excused herself to freshen up while I filled our plates.

When she came back, she looked at the spread with hungry eyes and announced, "I'm famished."

"Come, sit then. Let's fill you up with food."

"Mmmm," taking a big bite of the juicy meat, she moaned almost at every second bite.

My pants grew tight. But I immensely enjoyed her new unabashedness. Something was definitely changed in her, post-court session.

She looked more regal to me in all her rawness in comparison to my disciplined nurturing. I kissed her when she swallowed her bite.

I dueled with her tongue until she submitted. Only then did I back off. We were both breathless.

I gestured to the food, "Resume eating."

She looked at me in disbelief for a long minute before picking up the fork and stabbing the meat with it.

I smirked at her frustration and decided to frustrate her even more.

Slowly slipping my hand under her long flowy skirt, I caressed her silky skin. Her sharp intake of breath was music to my ears.

"Fizayer, behave!" She admonished.

"You looked very hot sitting beside me in the court," I disclosed.

She turned her narrowed eyes at me, "Is that right?"

I nodded and kissed her hand.

"While I understand what you did there, still you should have asked me before," she complained.

"Then you would have stressed yourself silly. Backed out even before trying," I reasoned.

She hummed. And we resumed eating.

"Thank you," she whispered after a few seconds.

I squeezed her hand in reply.
