"Tony?"
Peter could barely breath.
This couldn't be possible.
It couldn't.
Because Tony Stark was dead.
It wasn't possible for him to be standing at the door of Pepper's cabin.
"Pete?" The man sounded like Tony. Looked like him.
Peter swallowed harshly, eyes flickering back to the open door that led to Morgan's room. "What-" he whispered shakily, "are you doing? We don't want whatever you're selling."
Tony shook his head, looking as confused as Peter. "No, Pete, it's me. I promise. I don't know how, but I'm back. I'm home."
Peter stepped out, closing the door behind him, after checking on Morgan once more, and turned his gaze back to Tony. "No you're not. Tony died a year ago. You're not him. You're not."
Tony inhaled a shaky breath, eyes going wide. "A year?"
Peter gritted his teeth. "Who are you, and what do you want?"
The man's eyebrows creased, and he took a small step toward Peter. "No, it's me, Pete. Tony. What can I do to prove that?"
When Peter didn't answer, he took another step, lifting his hand to squeeze the teenager's shoulder. "We have lab nights every week, which are supposed to be working on the suits, but we usually end up watching Disney movies, and we sing along to them. You fall asleep on my shoulder, and then get embarrassed when you wake up. I call you Petey-pie, just because it annoys you."
Peter closed his eyes, feeling a hot tear trail down his cheek. "I didn't mind that much," he whispered softly, almost too soft to hear, but Tony did. "After you died I wanted more than anything for you to be able to call me that again."
His body reacted without hesitation, moving him forward, into Tony's arms.
The genius didn't hesitate either, pulling the boy closer, and resting his chin on top of Peter's curls.
They stood in silence, drinking in the feeling of finally being safe.
Then, in a small, shaking voice, Peter spoke up. "How?"
The one word held months of pain, of grief, and now, undisguised relief.
Tony pressed a soft kiss to the top of his kid's hair. "I'm not exactly sure of that. Steve did something with the particles and time stone, which don't ask me to explain, but Strange said it was permanent. So you're stuck with me for life."
Peter shook his head softly. "There are worse things."
A small voice interrupted their conversation, worried, and upset. "Petey? Where are you?"
Tony straightened, his eyes going to the door, then to Peter. "Is that-"
Peter nodded quickly, going to the door, and stepping back in. "Hey Mo. It's okay, pumpkin. We have a visitor."
He reappeared with Morgan in his arms.
When she saw her dad, her eyes went wide, and she struggled to get down.
Peter crouched down, letting go, and she threw herself at Tony with a loud shriek. "Daddy!!"
He caught her, stumbling back a step, and hugging her tightly. "You have no idea how much I've missed you bambino. I love you so much."
Morgan lifted her face, grinning impishly at him. "I love you three thousand."
Tony feigned surprise. "That's a whole lot of love, kiddo."
Her smile faded, and was replaced by a frown. "Why did mommy say you weren't coming home? I told her you were, cause you're a superhero, but she got sad. Why did she say that?"
Tony glanced at Peter, who didn't meet his gaze. "Because I wasn't. But now I'm back. Where's your mommy?"
The little girl pointed back to the door. "She's asleep. I didn't wanna go to sleep, but Peter was telling me a story, and she fell asleep on my couch."
Tony smiled slightly. "Well, I'm tired too. I think we should surprise her."
He started to go in, but paused, and gestured for Peter to come closer. "You too, Pete. You're family."
Peter didn't move. "I don't-"
Tony stepped closer, pulling the teenager to his side, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. "Nope. No excuses. I just came back from the dead, and I want to be with my kids."

Pepper was curled up on Morgan's couch.
Peter, before Tony could do it, lifted her up, settling her onto her daughter's bed.
Tony sank back onto the pillow beside her, letting Morgan cuddle up to him, his arm around her, and held out the other to Peter. "Come on, kid."
Peter curled up beside him, resting his head on Tony's shoulder, and enjoying the warmth of Tony's arm around him.
There was a silence.
Not the awkward, stilted silence, but a comforting, safe, and warm quiet.
Peter was half asleep when Tony moved, pressing a kiss to Morgan's cheek. "Night bambina."
Then he kissed the top of Peter's head, taking a deep breath, and letting it out again. "Night Pete."
"Mmm. G'night dad."
Tony stilled, a warm feeling filling his thoughts.
"Good night bud. Love you."
"Love you too."
Soooooo, whatdya think?
Too fluffy?
Weird?
Cute?
Gimme something to go on!!!!!!
Anywho, I was thinking about doing like a reverse au, with Penny Parker.
The battle with Thanos in endgame, but Penny wields the gauntlet instead of Tony.
It remains to be seen whether she would die or not.
Thoughts?
