chapter 6

-also chesapeake mountain is a fake mountain i made it up. (read the chapter you'll get it.)

the boys ate and had their normal, random conversations about random things. but today, today was different. it was like, different but a good different.

they got finished eating and went back into the car, ready to pull out of the parking lot.

"where should we go now? what would you like to do today?"

jonah asked zach. he looked over at him.

"i'm not sure. what do you want to do, jo?"

zach said while he looked at jonah in the driver seat.

'he looks so good today.', zach thought.

"it's anything you want to do. i'm down for anything, z."

jonah smiled at zach, zach sent a smile back. he cares so much about what the other boy wants, it was very obvious.

"you know what i wanna do?"

zach questioned. jonah looked at zach with a curious face but a smile soon formed across his lips when he looked at zach's shirt. he looked so good in his sweatshirt.

"and what is that?"

jonah asked.

"i wanna go on a hike. like on a mountain side and then watch the sunset, you know?"

zach said. he'd always wanted to do that. jonah nodded, seemed like a fun idea.

"well, let's go."

jonah said, zach's face lit up.

"really? now? what?"

zach was confused. jonah laughed at zach's confusion.

"we have all day, it'll take like two hours to get to chesapeake mountain and by then it'll be like 3 or 4 and we'll do the hike and watch the sunset. then drive home and stay at my house again, if you'd like."

jonah explained. zach smiled, he's always wanted to do this and he'd finally get to do it. and with his crush. wow.

"okay. let's do it."

zach said smiling, not trying to show too much excitement.

"okay. oh and one more thing."

jonah said. zach looked at him confused.

"you look very good in my sweatshirt. you should take some more of them."

jonah smiled and received a smile back. he picked up his phone and called his mom, explaining what they'd be doing and where they were going. zach called his mom also, telling her he's staying another night at jonah's.

then they were off, driving the two hours to chesapeake mountain. after about forty five minutes, zach was basically asleep in the passenger seat, jonah had to stop to get gas.

he didn't wanna just stop and not tell zach, so he decided to wake zach up. he ran his hands through zach's hair and grabbed his arm, shaking him slightly until he woke up.

"zach..zach."

"huh what i'm up"

zach said, tiredly. he sat up and realized what was happening.

"i have to go get gas, i didn't want you to wake up here alone and be confused. so i'm telling you."

jonah said, filling zach in on the situation. zach nodded.

'he cares so much..i think?', zach thought.

"okay, go get gas."

zach said. jonah nodded and went in the gas station. after about five minutes he came back and filled the tank up, he had bought some candy for zach in the gas station.

when he got back in the car, zach was wide awake. he's always been like that though, once he's woken up he can't fall back asleep, and he wasn't really tired.

"look who's awake."

jonah giggled, zach smiled and shook his head.

"whatever."

zach rolled his eyes jokingly. jonah smiled and gave zach the candy.

"i got you some sour patch kids and a sprite."

zach smiled.

"thank you."

the two shared a smile jonah before drove off. thy were back on the interstate on their way to chesapeake mountain.

jonah turned the radio on as they drove. zach was eating candy, jonah was singing to the songs and driving.

jonah's hand migrated over to zach's leg, resting open on his lower thigh, hoping zach would grab it. zach smiled at the cute gesture made by jonah, and grabbed his hand, interlocking their fingers.

jonah smiled as he held zach's hand as they drove.

they arrived at chesapeake mountain around 4:45. they still had a few hours til the sun would start to set, the hike would take an hour. the two decided to walk the hike very slowly and admire the beauty of nature.

"are you ready?"

jonah said as they walked towards the start of the hike spot. zach nodded as they walked into the entrance of the trail.

they walked for a few minutes and stopped to take some pictures at a cool rock they had found.

"you look amazing."

zach said as jonah posed for the picture. jonah smiled. he stopped posing and took some pictures of zach.

they walked some more, almost halfway done with the hike it had been almost an hour. the two were just walking, taking their time.

"we should..talk, right?"

jonah asked. the feelings he had for zach had been eating him alive, he needed to be with him or, atleast tell him how he felt.
