chapter 12

they walked into the restaurant, finding their parents and sitting with them.

"hey, how's it going?"

myta said, hugging the two boys. they smiled and answered.

they sat down and ordered drinks, jonah and zach sitting next to each other, ryan next to reese, the parents next to each other too. they were all so close, it was like one big family.

zach smiled, grabbing jonah's hand under the table.

"a-are you ready?"

zach whispered. jonah smiled.

"while we're eating we can tell him."

jonah whispered back. zach nodded.

"so what have you two been up to today?"

jonah's mom asks, smiling white eating her pasta.

"oh nothing really, we watched netflix all day."

zach said, before he took a bite of his chicken. jonah nodded.

jonah squeezed zach's hand, receiving a small
glance from zach. zach figured out this was the time they were gonna say it.

"mom, dad, mr. and mrs. herron, everybody, we have something we'd like to say."

jonah stated, the whole table stopped eating and looked at the two boys.

"zach and i...we're..a thing. i guess."

zach's face turned a slight red color.

"what do you mean, a thing?"

myta asked, looking at the boys.

"we're together, not officially yet, but working on it. we like each other, mom."

zach said, he lifted his and jonah's hand up, revealing to the group that they were holding hands. the families were astonished.

"finally."

myta said, looking over at jonah's mom.

"we knew it was a matter of time until they found out they were soulmates."

zach's father stated, receiving a few giggles from everyone.

overall, everyone was supporting of them. they didn't care, they just wanted the two boys to be happy and if being together meant they would be happy, then so be it.

they finished dinner and headed home, zach and jonah in one car and the others in different ones. zach and jonah were happy.

they had told everyone and they were happy for them. they had both completely forgot about what had happened the day before. they were just happy in this moment and that's all that mattered.

"you staying at my house tonight?"

jonah asked zach.

"can you stay at mine? you never sleepover at my house anymore. come over."

zach said, smiling towards jonah. he received and small smile back.

"of course. i have to get a few things."

jonah said, pulling the car into the driveway. they both got out, walking into jonah's house. he grabbed his sleepover bag from his room, zach following him. zach grabbed jonah's phone charger.

"oh i almost forgot. thank you."

jonah smiled, giving zach and kiss in the cheek.

"anytime. let's go."

zach said. the two boys walked down the stairs and over to zach's house. which was right across from jonah's.

they walked in, greeting myta and telling her he was staying tonight. they said hi to reese and ryan, then made their way up to zach's room.
