Visiting the Orphanage

"Elizabeth come down stairs please." Dad yelled but not in a tone that sounded mean. I was laying in my bed on my new laptop so I closed the top and ran down stairs. "Yes dad?" I asked. "Me and mom have a surprise for you!" He smiled. My eyes lit up "really? What is it?" "Get in the car and you'll find out." Dad said still a huge grin on his face.

Before I even got close to the mud room where all of our shoes were I ran upstairs quickly and threw on a new outfit, since I was in my pajamas.

I ran back downstairs and into the mudroom and quickly put on my flip flops and ran outside to the car. It was just me, mom and dad home today the other kids were up at Uncle Casey's house hanging out for the day. So I guess it's a good idea for us to do something together. Whatever my mom and dad had up their sleeves.

The ride took a little bit longer than I thought. Since we live in the hills and valleys of Idaho it took longer to get out near the more suburban area of Pocatello. I really did start to recognize the area that dad was taking us to. I gasped in excitement "dad are we visiting the orphanage?" Dad looked in the rear view mirror back at me "yes that's where we're taking you, to visit Ashley!" I squealed in excitement. I've missed her soooo much.

As soon as dad pulled up to the Orphanage and put the car in park I immediately opened the door and ran out of the car and up to the door

and walked right into the living room where everyone was sitting watching T.V. When they noticed that I was there they all excitedly gasped "Elizabeth!" Ashley was twice as excited to see me. She jumped up from where she was sitting and engulfed me in a hug. We released and I totally forgot that my parents were behind me. "Oh and I forgot to introduce you guys to my parents Shay and Colette." I smiled. "Thanks Elizabeth." Dad said. I nodded and sat down next to Elizabeth. "So where's Linda?" I asked. "Oh she, she quit her job here. She was having family issues, and she couldn't stay here all day and night with us." Ashley informed me and my parents and the other kids were glued to what was happening on the T.V. Screen. "Where's the new manager?" I asked. "Well she's right down the hall. Her name's Cheryl and she's really nice, I'll go get her." Said Ashley hopping off the couch and running down the hallway.

Minutes later she came back with a plump middle aged women who seemed to be in her fifties. She had dark brown curly hair that went to her shoulders. "Cheryl let me introduce you to my best friend Elizabeth and her parents Shay and Colette." Said Ashley. "Well it's very nice to meet you." She smiled shaking each of our hands. "For what reason are you here for?" She asked, definite confusion in her voice. "Well were just visiting. Elizabeth was an orphan here about a year ago. But then we adopted her less than a year ago." Dad explained. "Oh well spend as much time as you need to." Cheryl said walking back down to her office and shutting the door. "Thanks for introducing us." Said mom. "No problem."

More hours until it was time to go home. We didn't want the kids to worry about us since we had been at the Orphanage almost all day.

When we got back to the house we had

Dinner and went to bed.

Elizabeth got to see Ashley! How exciting! Her life is so crazy now.

Going back and forth from Idaho to California.
