Daxtons birthday!

Less than 11 months ago Daxton was born. He continued to grow, learn and play and we all watched him be successful at that.

Today my baby brother is one year old. I seriously can't believe that he is one. Even before I got adopted when I watched his birth it was love at first sight.

I got up out of my bed and practically ran downstairs because I wanted to see him so bad. "Happy birthday Daxton!" I smiled kissing him on the forehead. He looked up at me and smiled. "Good morning honey." Mom said giving me a hug. "Morning mom." I said after we released from our hug and then sitting down at the barstool. She gave me a plate with scrabbled eggs and toast, with a cup of orange juice. "Thanks mom." I smiled as I took a bite of my eggs. After breakfast I took a quick shower and got dressed and then came back down stairs.

When I came back downstairs I learned that all of the family was coming over to celebrate Daxtons birthday.

Soon the family was over and it felt good to have a party in our own house. We played games, and hung out as a family. "Who's ready for cake?" Dad smiled. We raised our hands in agreement

We pulled out the chocolate cake that mom had made. She coated the chocolate cake with blue frosting and on the top it read 'Happy First Birthday Daxton, we love you!' Before we gave Daxton a piece we sang happy birthday to him, and then let him dig into the cake. It was funny to watch him learn how to eat cake and see what it tastes like. But overall It was really good.

After the cake was cleaned up, everyone sat in the living room. Mom had Daxton on her lap and presents were piled around them. Daxton got a lot of cute toys,clothes and new car seat. We all thanked and appreciated every single gift Daxton got.

After everyone left we had our own little prayer session for Daxton just to pray for his the next year of his life.

"Katie would you like to say the prayer for Daxton?" dad asked. "Sure." I smiled.

I closed my eyes and folded my hands in my lap. "Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for giving us Daxton. He's such a beautiful blessing to our family and we really love watching him grow up and learn. Lastly we, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have him in our lives. Amen." As I finished I took a long breath. "Beautiful honey." Said mom. "Thanks." I said.

I seriously Can't believe Daxton is turning one today!!
