A clangorous ringing reached his ears, bringing him back to his senses. Clement felt a sharp pain at the back of his head, almost like someone had struck him with a sharp metal object. At first, he wasn't even sure where he was anymore. His surrounding were blurry and the smoke rising in plummets filled his nose and lungs, making it increasingly difficult to breathe.

His eyes flickered open when heard AJ coughing from underneath the smoke and despite the pain spreading around his body each time he tried to move, he ignored it and scrambled to his knees.

The heavy smoke in the room made it almost impossible to see anything. Clement hastily reached out and held AJ when he realized that he was nearby, and started checking if he was hurt or something.

"A—Are you okay?!" It came out more desperate than he expected.

AJ stammered, coughing as he answered. "I'm okay but (Y/N). . ."

He faced her and felt as if he couldn't breathe anymore.

She was on the ground, further away from the two of them, passed out from the impact.

"Oh. .my god. ." He breathed out, scrambling to her side with shaky hands. "N—no, no, this can't be happening."

He grabbed her by the shoulders and gently shook her, being careful not to hurt her in the process. There was no time to lose, the walkers must have heard the explosion and had already started making their way towards the station.

"AJ, try to wake her up—I'll check the windows!" He instructed AJ and ran towards a nearby window.

He couldn't believe his eyes as he peered out the window.

His heartbeat pounded in his ears, drowning out the desperate calls of AJ as he tried to wake (Y/N) up. His mind was running wild with all sorts of negative thoughts. This was bad, really bad. All the walkers were already inside the station and were making their way towards the house. They had already surrounded the house from all sides, crowding around so fast and in huge numbers that Clement couldn't help but panic.

There really was no time to waste, shit was about to hit the fan.

"Argh. ." (Y/N)'s fragile voice bought him back to his senses.

He turned around and saw her holding her head in her hands, her eyebrows furrowed together painfully. (Y/N)'s head was throbbing and felt as if it was about to crack open in two any second now. She must have hit the ground really hard.
