It came as an absolute shock to them when Marlon landed on the ground with a loud thud, a fuming Brody standing over him. She was shaking. Not with fear, no, she was shaking with rage.

She was infuriated.

"If ANYTHING happens—" She shouted, turning towards (Y/N) and pointing an accusing finger at her. "I'm holding you responsible!"

(Y/N)'s breath got caught in her throat as Brody eyed her with distaste. She had never had any issue with Brody before, frankly, she might have even seen her as a friend. After having that talk with Brody and Violet, (Y/N) had been subconscious trying to make them talk to each other more.

Needless to say, she was astounded to see her react like this just for going out of the safe zone. Even Marlon, who was the one who told them to stay inside the safe zone, didn't seem this angry.

(Y/N) and Clement watched in disbelief as she stormed off, her hands balled into tight fists. Although Marlon was irritated, he soon stood up again with a grunt, his expression grave.

"Clement. . .(Y/N), I know I asked you two for your help." He starts with his voice low, his eyes moving from a slightly annoyed looking Clem to (Y/N). Lingering on her for a longer period of time before returning back to Clem. "And you did. You did but. . .shit."

He sighed, placing a hand on his forehead. "God, nothing's easy."

(Y/N) looked down in regret as the situation soon dawned on her. Even though she didn't want to admit it, Brody was right. They did come across a person and although it seems impossible for that guy to get out of there alive, she couldn't deny it, it was her idea to go out of the safe zone in the first place.

She sighed but looked up regardless. "Look, I'm sorry we went out of the safe zone in the first place. I really didn't see any other option."

He stared back at her for a moment, it was hard to maintain eye contact after what happened. Well, it was hard for (Y/N) anyways.

Marlon's hardened face seemed to soften a little as he crossed his arms. ". . Yeah, I know. It's just hard keeping this together. Well, at least we're eating for tonight. And for the next few, I'd wager."
