Oya Oya?

The team leaves practice together, which is fairly normal. What isn't normal is that Tsukishima has an arm slung around Suga's shoulder – usually, it would've been Tanaka, or even Noya... definitely not Tsukishima.

Even then, nothing feels quite out of place to Suga; Kageyama has an arm rested against Hinata's head, and Noya is showing something to the rest of the team on his phone, earning hearty chuckles from those around him, while Tanaka is trying to wrestle it away from the libero.

Suga feels Daichi's eyes still on him, even as they walk. Apart from some bruising at the back of his head, there was nothing much for the captain to worry about, but ever since he returned from the infirmary, that same expression of chagrin hasn't worn off from Daichi's face.

"Say, Suga-san," Tsukishima says, sounding less bored than he usually did. "What would you do... if you realised you were falling in love with a friend?"

Suga perks up, not noticing Karasuno's captain gritting his teeth on his other side. He throws his own arm over Tsukishima's shoulder, using his palm to push the taller boy's head downwards to level his own. "It's Yamaguchi-kun, isn't it?" Suga whispers excitedly.

"Huh?!" Tsukishima recoils, pulling away from his senior. "I wasn't talking about myself," He scoffs, regaining his composure. "I was asking for a friend."

Suga rubs the dull ache on the back of his head. "Sure," he grins. "If that's the case, your friend should own up to his feelings! Honesty is always best, there's no point to keep things bottled up inside." He shoves Tsukishima toward Yamaguchi.

"Shit," Tsukishima curses as he stumbles. He catches his balance and pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "You don't believe me, huh?"

Nonetheless, the lanky boy slinks to the back of the group, a hint of a contented smile playing on his face just for a moment, as Suga follows his gaze to... Daichi?!

The captain is unusually quiet. His gaze is fixed on the ground, and he's chewing on his lower lip – something he does when he's nervous.

What in the world is going on here? Is Daichi... in love with someone?

Daichi had certainly been distracted recently. Suga had noticed how he stuttered much more often, how he'd blush at the slightest touch, or cheeky comment... and all of these, exacerbated by the embrace they shared on Saturday evening, after Suga had let himself shed tears in front of his captain.

Oh god, is he in love with me?!

Suga gapes, stopping in his tracks. His teammates turn to him with questioning looks. Suga shakes his head.

No, Daichi wouldn't fall for a guy like me... what the hell, he wouldn't even fall for a guy at all.

"Suga-san's got a concussion!" Noya exclaims.

"GEH?!" Hinata yelps. "Oh no, it's my fault!"

"The heck is 'GEH'?" Kageyama mocks.

Suga sighs, brushing the disillusionment and clouded thoughts from his mind. "I don't have a concussion, guys. They checked."

"Sawamuraaaa!" A voice rings from behind the group. They turn to see Michimiya Yui, captain of the girl's volleyball team, running to catch up to them.

"Oh, Michimiya!" Daichi calls back, pulling away from the group as he walks toward her.

Tanaka snickers. "Oya?" He slaps Nishinoya's back, cocking his head towards Michimiya in amusement.

"Oya oya?" Noya turns, joining Tanaka in his guffaw.

"Oya oya oya?" Ennoshita chimes in.

Suga sighs at the boisterous second-years as he herds them onward. Even then, he himself stays back, under the guise that he was waiting for Daichi to walk home together. He observes the pair glumly from afar.

"I didn't manage to catch you after Friday's match," Michimiya pants. "You guys were... insane!"

Suga could see that Michimiya's cheeks are turning a bright red.

"Ah," Daichi chuckles, the furrows between his brows creasing themselves out as his expression relaxes. "Your good luck charm really worked then." He gestures to the red charm hanging off the strap of his bag.

Michimiya's blush seems to have spread to her forehead now, if that was even possible. "O-of course it did!" She laughs nervously. "A-anyway, I just wanted to say..." she rubs her knuckles nervously as she looks up at Daichi through full, hazel lashes.

Suga somehow feels a bitter taste forming in his mouth. He knows he doesn't have the right to eavesdrop; she's going to confess, it was meant to be a private and intimate moment between the two of them, but he couldn't bring himself to look away.

"... that I'm s-so p-proud of you, and that I will continue to cheer you on during the Nationals!" she blurts. She shoves something into Daichi's hand. "Another one, just in case!" She said, as she bounds off. "See you soon!"

"O-oh, thanks, Michimiya!" Daichi calls back. He stands in silence as he turns  the charm over in his hands.

Suga could see that this one was pink instead of red. He swallows the unease that is forming at the back of his throat as Daichi approaches, a dazed expression on his face. "It has a heart on it," Daichi says blankly, sounding every bit as disoriented as he looks.

Suga turns away as he inhaled sharply, pursing his lips. A stabbing pain had materialised so suddenly in his chest that he wants to just run away, or sit down, or scream; he doesn't know which.

What is wrong with you, Suga!

Daichi is eyeing Suga again, doe-eyed, with an expression Suga couldn't read.

Suga forces a smile onto his face. "That was a confession, wasn't it, Daichi?" He claps his hands together. "So, what're you going to do about it?"

Daichi's expression immediately turns from hopeful – yes, that was what it was, – to crestfallen.

You're imagining things now, Suga! Daichi. Is. Not. In. Love. With. You.

"I don't know..." Daichi murmurs, running a thumb across the heart on the pink charm.

Suga has to get away. He couldn't stay here and do this and pretend that everything was fine and dandy, when inside he felt all messed up, and he didn't even know why. "H-hey, I realised I left my bottle in the changing room," He lies. "You go on ahead!" Suga turns away from Daichi before the tears forming in his eyes would be visible to his captain and takes off.

"Suga!"

Suga ignores Daichi's hoarse voice, breaking into a sprint, running as fast as his legs could take him.
