Suga tries to steady his shaking hands as the key to the equipment room misses its mark in the prussian night. He's never found the need to use the spare keys that he safe-keeps as Vice Captain, but he's glad that it's coming in handy as the literal key to his respite in this moment.

The lock clicks open and Suga stumbles in, the streaks of sweat and tears cascading down his face, merging to form rivers which patter down in large droplets that stain the cement floor.

His hands grasp at his chest as he attempts to hold his sobs back, because once they escape his lips, all of this would be too real. His body convulses against the sliding door, causing it to rattle against its steel tracks as he slides it shut. As it closes, the first semblance of a retch finds it's way through his gritted teeth. Suga slides down against the wall, burying his head in his knees as pained cries come forth in full force.

He still struggles to comprehend where this stabbing jealousy had come from, when it had been conceived, why it existed. He struggles to understand who Daichi was to him; maybe at the back of his head, he already knew the answer, but never wanted to own up to his own feelings.

All too abruptly, jealousy had forced him to acknowledge the white elephant he had kept buried for so long. A myriad of emotions spin around him in a violent whirlwind, all of them sharp and painful, forming razor cuts as they whip by.

The night is peaceful, save for one equipment room in Karasuno High, its interior dimly illuminated by moonlight faintly seeping through panel windows, where the silence is pierced by a setter's soft, anguished sobs.
