Dear XiNa,
I don't know what much to say. I never really said much ever. But I remember everyday with you. Of how much you shined when the storms came. How you calmed me in the storms that came. How you pierced through the dark tunnel with an unbeatable light. I remembered when I first met you on the set of Idol Producer. You were an assistant stylist coordinator. You were young and striving in life. I was captivated by you and everything you did. You rushed in with clothes for the our song cover stages. You held three black bags full of clothes. Your hair was up in a loose ponytail, but you had loose strands. You looked so embarrassed but you walked in anyway. Then when you fixed my tie and jacket, you were so close. I felt like you could feel my heart beating so hard and then you smiled when you finished. My heart felt like it jumped out of my chest. Throughout the whole program, all of my focus was on you. I remembered this one time where we found you singing and dancing in the green room while preparing for one of our missions. You even got every key point, angle, notes, and tune correct. From then on, you were called the singing stylist. You were so cute when your cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment.
I was so nervous to ask for your number. That day, I probably brushed my teeth three times and did teeth whitener before walking out of the dorms. I even checked my breath with almost every trainee that walked by me. I dressed up a tad nicer than usual, WITH the help of Bufan. I checked the mirror like five times before walking out.
I fell in love with you...
After three years, I finally asked for a date.
Four years later, you left.
It was my fault.
I just never felt so empty ever.
I didn't mean to ever hurt you like I did... Now it is one year.
I would never think twice if I could take back that night.
That night you left and never came back. I remember your tear stained face with you red cheek you clutched in your hand.
I was so lost in the anger that I lost you.
Earlier this night, when I saw you with him. In his arms and swinging you, showing you off, giving you all the love that I forgot to give you.
That should be me holding you.
Giving you hugs and kisses.
Holding your hand.
Making you laugh and smile.
Having my lips touch yours.
You were mine.
I should be the one standing by your side.
I saw how you smiled and looked at him. I can't believe I would see you. Dancing with him.
Why would you seem so happy with someone else??
Why did you move on so quickly?
Did I mean anything to you?
Ding Ding Ding
He went to open the door. It was him. The other man.
"Are you Zheng Ruibin?"
"Yes, and-"
Right then, Ruibin felt a stinging in his left cheek. He looked to the other. His eyes stared to the broken hearted as if he was the threat of his life. The man walked into his apartment.
"Stay Away from XiNa. She deserves more than you. You've painted her in darkness and depression. After all you've done... She still thinks of you. Stay out of her life. You don't deserve her."
"She thinks of me?"
Another punch to Ruibin's gut, brings him to the floor. He gets up slowly.
The other man takes him by the collar. Ruibin looks at him with spiritless eyes.
"Now that I get to see the loser who let her go I can say thank you. And when you see my face again remember this name-"
"Li Ruotian!"
The two men look to see her at the door with her suit case. She rushes over and pushes Ruotian.
"What are you doing?!" She stares coldly at the standing man.
"Wha- I thought-"
"No. How dare you, Ruotian. You need to go. NOW," she retorts.
After a bit they hear the door close. She looks to her lover in pain as she walks him to his bedroom.
"Go clean up," she say quietly.
He responds by doing as he says without a word. He comes back from the bathroom and few minutes later she see her not in his room but a sweet humming comes from his living room. He walks to see her cleaning his slight mess in her home clothes. A change from her dress from earlier and her face, makeup-less. His favorite look. She's placing things the way they were before the interaction. She stands up to fix her hair. She turns to see him.
"Why are you out here? You should go to bed. It's late and you have work at 7," she says before going back to what she was doing.
"XiNa..."
"Yes?"
Tears fall from his eyes.
"I'm so sorry... I never wanted any of it... All I wanted was you and temptation came and over took me-"
"I know."
He looks up to see the half written letters in her hands.
"You shouldn't have-"
"Read it? Why did you write then?"
"I don't know."
"Go to bed. You should go to sleep," she turns her back to him and goes back to what she wants doing.
"O-okay..."
Ruibin walks to his room. He sits in bed, unable to sleep. Soon his door opens and he watches as she comes in. She sits in front of him, her back to him and she leans back on him. He wraps his arms around her waist.
"I love you," he whispers gently.
"I love you too," she responds.
He kisses the crown of her head and holds her tight. The silence sat there till they fell asleep.
They might need to rebuild what they once had but one year later... Was too long for them. One year later, they realized their love was stronger than ever.
