Lee JongHyun was born on May 15, 1990 in Busan, South Korea. He lived in Japan for 4 years and then went back to Korea and finished middle school.
He is a gold medalist in Judo before he was encountered by a talent scout. The agent was in Busan and is persuading YongHwa to audition in FNC, however, YongHwa was determined to study for the upcoming entrance exam that he declined . The agent saw JongHyun accross the street and gave him his calling card asking him to try and audition too.
Both of them being from Busan, they met at the train station on the day they were going to FNC fo audition. As fate would have it, they are on terminal at the same time. They decided to go together.
When they reached their destination, MinHyuk was there auditioning in his school uniform. People will agree that this is destined to happen because that day, only the three of them passed, so their team was formed at that time and they navigated towards each other during training.
At the time Jonghyun started training in music and became enthralled with the guitar after seeing musician Eric Clapton perform.
Kang MinHyuk is the drummer in the band and was born on June 28, 1991 in Ilsan. He went to FNC at the same day that YongHwa and Jonghyun auditioned. He wanted to be an artist since highschool and followed a friend who always auditioned. After they left an audition from a big company they were approched by a casting agent from FNC Entertainment and he decided to try it too.
He auditioned by singing a song but then decided to play instruments later.
Minhyuks' dad taught him how to play the drums being a drum teacher. He also practiced hard so he can perform tricks on his drumsticks while performing on stage. Aside from drums the flute is one of the instruments that MinHyuk plays so well.
He was able to write lyrics to a song and showed it to YongHwa. He would also like to compose one day and would like to know how it feels when he hears the song he composed being played.
He is athletic like JongHyun and loves sports like soccer and basketball. He is also known by the members to easily learn online games and master it but he always feels frustrated after that maybe because he already mastered it his interest in the game wanes.
Among the four members, he is the quiet one who prefers to be by himself most of the time. He even advised people in one of his interviews to "go out and travel alone " instead of watching television. He even said , " Going out to unfamiliar places alone is my happiest holiday." he would often bring his camera with him and fires away taking selcas (selfies). It was a gift from a fan and he really use it well.
He is living up to the lovely aspect of the band with his smooth and clear face. He even demonstrated that even though you are tired you should always clean your face before going to sleep. He has baby face and looks good at any angle.
Lee JungShin is a friend of MinHyuk from english school in Ilsan and when he went to FNC to audition, they saw each other and re-kindle the friendship.
JungShin was scouted in Busan when the agent saw him (after YongHwa declined and after seeing Jonghyun) in the company of his musician friends. He was not into playing music at the time but loves to hang out with his friends and listen to their songs.
He was born on September 15, 1991 and is the youngest in the band. he plays the bass and raps to some of the songs. Being the youngest doesnt really make him the easiest to be with, hence the tagline Untouchable.
However, jungShin said that he really is a happy and goofy person once you get to know him, its just that he is shy with other people. Even his hyungs agree that he is the quiet type when you dont know him yet.
He is fond of taking pictures and he mentioned this in some of the shows that he guested in. He's also fond of taking pictures of his bandmates. He took pictures when they started the Cant Stop world tour and the pictures come out great. This, coming from a guy whose picture is always being taken. He is always being asked to grace the cover of magazines because he is a good model. His eyes always show emotions easily.
Like the others he also acted in some korean drama and got great response for being able to act so well in the first drama he starred in. Even though he may not have the lead role he always delivers good acting.
Born in June 22 1989, Jung YongHwa grew up in Busan and is an internet celebrity long before he became the leader of the band, CNBLUE.
His friend posted his picture taken while they were skiing ( which was uploaded in his personal blog) and got a lot of attention from people on the internet, thus, earning him the #1 Ulzzang title. He got a lot of votes because of his good looks.
However, Yonghwa is more than just a pretty face. He can play piano, guitar, a little of clarinet and violin. Aside from writing songs for the band, he also composed and synthesized some of them.
He was approached by the talent scout and initially didnt want to audition. When the agent went directly to his hometown to again ask him to audition, he told his parents who are unaware that he was approached by a casting agent. He was encouraged by his mother to try and just go back home and take his entrance exam in case he is not accepted.
He decided to join and met JongHyun at the train station on the way to FNC Entertainment. Then Minhyuk was there too, and as if fate guided them, they are the only three to pass that day.
JungShin came after that and was friends with MinHyuk before, so he naturally joined them and their activites. They had fun and fond memories of training as JungShin recounts, "We only have 15 minutes of break during training so after class we would run to a hotdog stand, eat it in 10 minutes and run back to training (so we will not be late)."
They started as indie band in Japan under AI Entertainment and was playing on the streets before they got recognized and were asked to perform in bars. That was 2009. They debuted in Korea in January 14 2010 under FNC Entertainment with the Bluetory album and with "Im a loner" as title track the album stayed in the GAON Chart for two weeks and the song peaked at number 2.
They hold the record for getting the #1 spot in South Koreas' televison music charts in very short time, just fifteen days after debuting with this song.
