I jolt awake to screaming. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Pete chasing Joe into the backyard. Patrick most likely went upstairs, and Andy is in the kitchen eating some cereal. "Hey Amber. Want to come join me?" I nod and grab myself a bowl. They have Cocoa Pebbles, my life is complete.

A wet Joe dashes towards the stair case, while a dying Pete plops himself on the couch. Andy ignores them, continuing to eat his cereal. Pete continues to die for the next couple of minutes, then comes to join us. "What was that about?"

"Joe decided to wake me up by screaming into my ear. So, for revenge, I chased him outside and sprayed hose water on him." He seems pretty proud of his work. He goes over to the cabinet and makes himself a bowl of cereal. Shortly, a dry Joe comes down and sits next to Andy, who was the farthest person away from Pete. "Has anyone seen Patrick?" We all shake our heads. Pete goes upstairs, leaving the rest of us to ourselves. "So, Amber, one question for you. I was wondering if you would be comfortable with telling us why you were in the orphanage." There's two ways that this could go, I could tell them what actually happened or I could sum it up with out the details. Number two it is!

"My parents died and my family couldn't take care of me. That's all I'm saying right now." That should be the answer that they were expecting. Of course they want to know why they died, but that's something when everyone is here. Joe and Andy nod their heads, respecting that my answer. Pete comes down with a barely awake Patrick. "Morning." He mumbles while taking a seat. "Sorry I was working late last night. Didn't get to sleep until 4:00am." Wow, that's well, wow. No wonder why he slept till 3:28pm. He returns to his room, and comes down later in a sweater and jeans. "So how about we go out for lunch/dinner." They agree with Patrick, but I don't say anything. Honestly, I'll do whatever they want me to do.

We go in the car and I sit in between Patrick and Pete. Again, when the car starts moving, I end up squeezing Pete's. "Dude, why don't you squeeze Patrick's arm or something!" I do as I'm told start squeezing Patrick's arm. "If you want to not hear me scream, I suggest that you let go." He says threw gridded teeth and bulging eyes. I didn't know I squeezed that hard. I let go of his arm, looking down at the floor.

We get out of the car to see a Red Robin. Burgers are awesome, don't judge. There's about six other sets of families that are seated, so we are able get seated quickly. Shortly, the waitress comes. "Hello. My name is Alice. Would you like to start off with some drinks?" Patrick and Andy got water, Pete and Joe got coke, and I got lemonade; lemonade is cool.

When the waitress came back she asked what we wanted. Everyone excepted for Patrick and Andy got cheeseburgers, they got a vegetarian burger. We just sat there talking about why someone would think of the idea of getting milk from a cow, until she came back with our food. All of us stopped talking and ate our food. They make the best burgers ever!

As we are walking out into the parking lot, I couldn't bring myself to get in the car. "Um, would it be okay if we walk home?" they looked at me with confusion. "It's like a four mile walk and by the time we would get home, it would be around 10:00pm." Joe starts to walk over to the car. "What if I walk and you guys drive home." I don't want to go in that car again, I know it's only been two times, but still. "Yeah, like we are going to let you walk in the dark alone, nice try." I can't believe I thought that would actually work, trial and error eh? "What's the real reason you don't want to go into the car?" Patrick asks me, immediately, I start to to think of an excuse. "Because...because...I...um...myparentsandolderbrotherdiedinacarcrashandIhaven'tstepedfootinacarsince." Tears start to roll down my face and Patrick hugs me. "Would you mind if you say it so we can understand you?"

I continue crying and nod. "My parents and older brother died in a car crash and I haven't stepped foot in the car since." It went silent, all one could hear was my cries. It's weird having someone hugging you after around four years. "Would it be okay if we go in the car and you're right next to me, and you can do whatever you need to do?" I pause before answering, part of me never wants to go in that car again. Yet again, I can't have this fear forever, cars are everywhere now. Besides, I've already been in the car, it should be okay.

I slowly nod and make our way to the car. Patricks let's me sit next to him as promised, and I don't let go of him. Sometimes, when I get really nervous, I falling asleep calms me down, so I did. Never thought this would happen again, falling asleep in a car, interesting how life works.
