"Amber, get up. Time to go." Pete says, shaking me. Must have fallen asleep.
"Sorry." I mumbled while getting up from the couch. I follow Pete to where the guys are standing. Dad's face reeks of exhaustion, while the others look as if nothing happened. "How long has it been?"
"About two hours or so. You were out for about an hour." Any replies as we walk out of the studio. "You guys want to come over to my house?" They nod and we all go to the separate cars.
I've never been to any of their houses before. I wonder what it's like, he's not the most open book. Pete comes in Dad's car, being we carpooled here. "What's Andy's house like?" I ask and they chuckle a bit. "What?"
"Nothing, just an odd question." Dad says while stopping at a red light. "Well, it's like a house, with rooms, walls, and floors."
"That is the most descriptive house I have ever heard." I roll my eyes from the back seat and he turns around.
"Don't roll your eyes at me." To one up me, he rolls his eyes.
"Why do you get to roll your eyes?"
"Because I'm an adult, and I have power. Muahahahahaha!" He rubs his hands together, while slowly turning to face front.
"Yes, Trick, you are such an adult." Pete mocks him.
"Oh and you are." He starts the car at the change of the light.
"Yes, I am older than you. Therefore I am better at adulting than you." I think about what he just said, is adulting even a word?
"Adulting isn't a word Pete." I state, pretty sure that I was correct. He turns to face me in his seat.
"It is now." He smirks and turns back around. "And my reasoning is that I'm older." He raises his arms as far as the car roof will let him. "I am now the ultimate adult!"
I can't think of an explanation for that, other than he is right in a way. After a couple of minutes, we reach Andy's house. We get out of the car, and I follow Dad and Pete to the door. There's another car in the driveway, and it looks like Andy's, maybe, I don't really know what his car looks like. Pete rings the bell, and within a minute Andy opens the door. "Well hello there, please enter my humble home."
As he gestures us to go inside, I whisper to Pete, "I think he just beat you at adulting." He glares at me and turns away, making his way to one of the couches.
Andy's house seems cozy, yet spacious. The first you enter is the living room, with a few couches and a TV, to the left are stairs, and to the right is the kitchen. In the back, there's a dining room, and a room I can't make out from where I'm standing. On the side of the stairs, there is a door, which I'm guessing is leading to his weight room.
After looking around, I join them on the couch, taking a seat next to Dad. "We're just waiting on Joe. He should be here any minute now." As if on queue, Joe enters the house.
"When did you get a key?" Andy questions, shocked.
Joe laughs, dangling a bright shiny key from his hands. "You keep the spare under the mat." Andy walks up to Joe grabbing the key from his hand.
"Now this needs a new place." He mumbles, shoving the key in his pocket. Him and Joe take a seat adjacent to Pete, Dad, and I. "Okay so, what do you guys want to do?"
"Well actually, I need to tell you guys something." Dad says nervously.
"Yeah, what is it?" Joe asks. Pete looks worried, and Andy soon catches on.
"Amber, can you please leave for a second, this is adult talk." Dad's voice is soft, almost inaudible. I know what he's going to say, but he doesn't know that I know. Reluctantly, I agree and walk outside.
After a few minutes, Joe opens the door, taking a seat next to me. "Hey kiddo."
"Hi." I reply, not really knowing what else to add.
"Okay, so how about you and I are going to walk down to the ice cream shop."
"Yeah sure. Are the others coming?" He pauses before answering.
"They'll meet us there." I nod and we start walking.
A/N ~ I'm back people. I am so sorry. Summer work was well, not very forgiving this year. But anyways, that's in the past. This chapter is kinda short, but I hope you like it :)
