Chapter Eight: Butterflies

JENNIE'S POV

"This gossiper is really everywhere." Rose said while showing a picture of me Jungkook and Lisa and Tao

"Aish! Get used to it, Rose! I don't care about that site anymore."

Rose tucked her phone into her pocket "If you say so. Did Lisa talk to you last night? Or have you seen each other there?"

We got to our locker.

"Yes. I first saw her, at first I'm kinda pissed because I thought she's hiding something between her and Tao." I got my books for our first class "But then we talked at the restroom, she said that Tao is just making it up to her."

"You know, if ever Tao still wants Lisa, I will ship them. I can see that Tao really cares for Lisa."

What she had said made my mood change. This girl!

"What's with Jennie?" I heard Lisa asked Rose

"I don't know. Maybe mood swings? Or she's back being the Queen bee." Rose answered

I kept my eyes straight to the board, pretending like listening to the teacher's discussion.

"She can't be back to her old her. Her old self will ignore me, I'll miss her if she did." Lisa whispered

I can't help but smile. I looked at her and she's looking at me with a gummy smile.

"Just had a bad morning, don't worry." I said to her

She just nodded and listened back to our science teacher.

Our gang is getting bigger now with Lisa's friends. I'm not complaining because I know Lisa is happy having them around.

Rose threw a tissue on Jisoo's face after she dropped a lame joke. The cafeteria is crowded with busy students we are here at our famous table, laughing at Jisoo's lame jokes.

"Eww! You used that tissue then you threw it on my face?! How dare you!" Jisoo spat at Rose

"Blame your lame-ass joke." Rose stuck her tongue out

"Stop it, you two." V tried to stop the two after he stopped laughing

Jungkook then came, he smiled at me. I feel like I have nothing to do with him anymore but the inner stubborn me says that I need him. Damn it.

"Jennie, I really had fun last night. Would you like to come over and have dinner at our house? We can review for the exam after." He offered

"Jeon, I really want to but I need to go to Lisa's for her notes and we are also going to review."

Lisa interjected "I'll be fine. Jisoo can do that." She said but I know that she's not happy to say that

"It's fine with Lisa." Jungkook gave me a hopeful smile

I sighed. I really want to spend more time with Lisa.

"Sorry, but I have a promise to fulfill. Lisa saved me and I need to make it up to her. We can have dinner the other time." I rejected him again

He sighed in defeat "Next time, okay?"

I gave him a tight smile then he walked away.

I reached for Lisa's hand under the table. She looked at me in shock but when I caressed her hand using my thumb she calmed a little.

"Thank you." She said

I swear! I can see and feel the thoughtfulness in her eyes.

"I'll stick to our deal. I'll go to your apartment after school from now on." I smiled

I saw her blush but she looked in the other direction. How cute.

"Geez, I feel like I'm watching a teen gay drama here." Jisoo commented that made the group fall into silence

"You! You never know how and when to shut your mouth." V slightly smacked Jisoo's head

"Hey! I'm just saying that..." Jisoo didn't finish her sentence when V covered her mouth

"Sorry, my pet is just really wild sometimes." He joked at ease the awkwardness

I squeezed Lisa's hand "Are you okay?"

She finally looked at me, she's still blushing "Yes."

"V! That will be the last one that you'll call me your pet!" Jisoo said when V removed his hand from her mouth

"If you'll behave." V said, teasing Jisoo again

Tao is quiet the whole time, he'll laugh if Jisoo or Rose makes a joke, he's looking at his friends with such affection. Maybe he's really a good person because despite that Lisa rejected him, he's still here for her.

"You can't write all of that. Maybe Jisoo can you help. I don't want you to get tired." Lisa complained while I'm writing her notes "Jisoo!" She shouted

"Aish! I told you I'm fine." I said

Jisoo entered Lisa's room, she's panting as she had run from a marathon.

"Lisa-ah! Are you okay? What happened?" She asked while catching her breath

"I'm good. I'll just ask if you can write my other notes? This kitty cat beside me wants to take all the works but I can't let her."

Jisoo looked first before she took Lisa's notebook from the study table "I'll do it." She then smirked at me "Behave, okay?"

Lisa and I groaned in unison. Lisa threw a crumpled paper on Jisoo. She just laughed and exited the room, closing the door behind.

"Aish! That girl!" Lisa shook her head

I stared at her with a smile on my lips. I can still see the kiss mark on her cast. Then I got a perfect idea. I took my market from my bag.

"Can I write something on your cast?" I politely asked Lisa while showing her my marker

She arched her right eyebrow but she nodded nonetheless.

I carefully held her cast, carefully not to hurt her. My smile never left my lips while doodling 'JenLisa' on her cast.

"Jenlisa?" She asked while I'm shading the heart next to the Jenlisa word

"Jennie and Lisa. How cute, right?"

"Yes, but why?"

Her question caught me. What would I tell her? Geez, I don't even know why I came to that idea.

"Uh.. best friends have ship names too, you know?"

What the hell, Jennie Kim! What a lame alibi!

Lisa nodded, she believed my alibi "So, we are best friends now?"

I smiled "Yes."

Her gummy smile appeared, butterflies took over my tummy and I feel my cheeks blushing.
