Chapter twenty-four: Blackmail

LISA'S POV

"Have you sent the gift?"

"Yes, young master. I also made sure that no one saw me leaving the gift outside their house."

"Great job. Don't tell daddy about this or else you know what will I do."

I'm kidding of course. I'm not a bad person, I'm just making him scared of me for him to obey me. Perks of being a Manoban.

"Yes, young master."

I ended the call before Nancy entered my room.

"Time for your medicine, Lalisa." She said sitting on my bed, giving me five tablets

"Unnie, how long do I still have to take this?" I asked before I took the tablets one at a time

She waited for me to finish before she answered "You'll be good next week. You're being a good girl."

I scoffed "Haha! Good girl your face." Then I remembered Jisoo saying that Tao wants to see Nancy "Unnie.."

"Still need something?" She asked me while standing near my bedroom door

"What do you think about my friend Tao?"

She blushed furiously. Oh god. I swear! I ship them! Are they really a thing?

"Uhh.. he's nice and gentleman." She shyly answered still have the stupid blush

I smirked "Do you find him as a boyfriend material?"

"I.. maybe? Yes? I don't know." She perceived that I am teasing her "Yah! Stop making fun of me!"

I laughed "Don't worry. I will ship you two if ever." I winked at her

She raised her middle finger at me "Whatever." Then she exited my room

It's been three months since Jennie started to spend every other weekend here. The first month made her very exhausted because she's traveling here every weekend which is why I decided to just make it every other weekend for her to have some rest.

Jennie is the perfect girlfriend. Before I can ask for something, she already gave it to me. She never failed to make me feel loved.

Daddy also learned to accept our situation. He still sometimes persuade me to just use his power to make Jennie mine but I can't let him. I'm not Jungkook and I will never be like Jungkook.

Daddy extended his vacation until Christmas. Though he's also busy taking care of me, he sometimes checks our company.

It's Friday, daddy is sitting beside my bed, reading one of his new books. He always spends his time in my room, reading a book or we'll watch a movie.

"Daddy?"

"Hmm?" He hummed not taking off her attention from his book

"Can I go back to Korea after Christmas? I know you'll go back to Canada after, I don't want to be alone here.."

Daddy laughed "Just say that you want to be with Jennie."

"Daddy!" I whined

"What? Why do you have to flower your words? Just go straight to the point." He closed his book "Though I really wanted you to stay here and have more rest for your recovery, I also don't want you to feel alone here."

"So.. is it a yes?"

"Yes, if nurse Nancy will come also."

I got up from my bed and hugged him "Thank you, daddy!"

JENNIE'S POV

"What's wrong?"

Jungkook was never been quiet since he started to drive me home and it's unusual for him to be silent like this.

"My.. my parents are receiving random scary things, like a threat." He said without glancing at me

"They are what?" I asked, still can't believe what I just heard

"I'm scared for their safety, Jen. Mommy said that it wasn't really a death threat or what. The sender sent them a dead rat with a letter saying that he or she knows my parents' secret transactions."

I frowned "Secret transaction? What does that mean?"

I don't want to think the worst things but are they involved in an illegal operation? Like what? Oh please, that can't happen.

I saw how he got tense up "I.. just forget about it."

The car came into a full stop in front of our house.

"Are you going to spend your Christmas vacation with them?"

I nodded and tried to push the horrible things out of my thoughts "Yes." I simply answered

"You can just come with me, my parents and I are going to Hawaii."

I shook my head "No. I just to stay at Lisa's apartment with them."

He sighed and unbuckled his seatbelt "Okay. I don't want to force you though." He leaned to kiss my forehead "I'm trying to win your heart, Jen. I hope you can see all my efforts."

A fang of guilt hit me. Jungkook is a good person but it's just sad that he's also a spoiled boy that he'll do whatever it takes to have what he wants and that was me. I hope Lisa will move faster to stop my engagement with Jungkook.

I nodded and hugged him "Thank you, J. I appreciate you a lot."

It was true. He became a gentleman that I never imagined he could be. He'll pick me up from my house, drive me home after school. He sometimes brings food for me during lunch. I wish I could give the love he wanted from me but I can't. Lisa will always have my heart. Only Lisa. My Lalisa.

After making sure that Jungkook was out of sight, I immediately called V to pick me up. Since my parents went back to Canada, my squad ask me to sleep there instead of being alone in my so-called home.

"Hop in, madam." V opened Lisa's car for me

I giggled and said, "Thank you."

After she closed the door, he runs to the other side of the car and hops in the driver's seat.

"Jennie, I want to apologize for what I said to Lisa about you misbehaving. I really didn't mean that way."

"That was months ago, V. I'm good, we're good. I also understand that you are just concern about Lisa but please appreciate also my efforts for her. I won't do anything to harm her."

"Of course we appreciate you, Jen. I am really sorry about that." He smiled at me and he looked back to the road "Do you already have a Christmas present for Lali?"

"Yup. Don't even ask what it is because I won't tell you. Jisoo helped me to buy her a gift." I looked at him while he's focusing on driving "I just realized that I don't really know many things about my girlfriend."

"Do you want me to tell you some fun facts about her?"

"Please? I feel so much guilt for not having any idea about her likes and dislikes, hobbies and all. Rose said to me that Lisa kept on asking her about things about me."

"Well, Lisa loved to dance. She needed to stop when they found out about her heart condition. She's the dancing machine, she can memorize choreography in just a short period of time." The rest of the drive V continued to tell me about things about Lisa

Guess what? I fell in love with her even more after V told me more things about her. I found myself the kindest and down-to-earth girlfriend.
