Melody's POV
Wow.
Big time skip, I know.
But a lot has happened in this past year.
Me and Gus became best friends, Jada took me in after a month, she's gotten a new boyfriend, and I'm already planning to go to college.
"Jada! I'm home with Gus!" I called out and locked the front door.
"Hey Melody." She walked downstairs and hugged me.
"Hi."
"Oh and hi to you too Gus. How are you?"
"I'm good. You?"
"I'm amazing. Also John just came home." She smiled at me.
"Where is this dummy?" I joked.
Mine and her boyfriend, John's relationship was like a father daughter play fight thing and it was better than mine and dad's relationship.
"I'm here you butthead." He hugged me.
"Sup." I hugged back.
"How was school?"
"Fun."
"What did I tell you about boys?" He asked, sternly.
"John..."
"I'm playing. I love Gus over. Hey, treat her right, she's like my daughter and if you hurt her, I hurt you." John chuckled.
"John he isn't my boyfriend." I laughed.
"I need to tell you something." Jada sat me down.
"Alright."
"Me and John are expecting a baby." She sighed.
"No way! I'm so happy!" I smiled really big.
"Thank god I thought you'd be mad." She chuckled and kissed my cheek.
"No! I mean you're young! You're 32! You should for sure start being a mother."
"I already am basically a mother to you." She hugged me.
"Alright well ima go to my room now." I held Gus's hand and walked him up the stairs.
"What's wrong?" He asked as a stressed look washed over my face.
"Uh nothing." I lied.
"No what's wrong?" He grabbed my chin and made me face him.
"I'm just not excited to be an older sister. I mean, I've never had to do it before and never thought I would. After my mothers death, my dad vowed to have no more kids. I never predicted his death." I explained.
"Aw it's ok. Trust me, it'll be alright." He soothed.
"Thanks for making me feel better." I sighed.
"No problem. Hey, I think I know what'll help you feel better." He smiled.
"What?"
"Layla invited me to a party and there's gonna be a shit ton to drugs and alcohol." He shrugged.
"You don't like it when I do that."
It was true.
He never approved of me doing drugs or drinking alcohol.
"I know. But since tonight, you're going through a hard time right now I'll accept it. But after, no more." He said.

Me: Uh yea hold up, I'm
gonna make sure that Jada
is asleep.
I was hard core crushing on Gus but he had a girlfriend, Layla.
I snuck out of my room and checked in her room, she was fast asleep so I snuck out my window.
The front door creaks loudly so if I tried to get out that way it would be obvious and Jada would wake up and I'd get in trouble.
