Being outnumbered by a bunch of rogue grim reapers wasn't exactly on Ciel's to do list. The poor boy simply wanted a fresh cup of tea and to relax by the fireplace as his hyper girlfriend practiced her drawing. Unfortunately for him, things are never easy and the Gods have abandoned him.
"Sebastian!" He yelled. The demon butler left his post at the sphere and ran to aid him. Halona fought off the reapers as best she could, she had no idea there would be this many opponents.
There is a reason that Dispatch is always short staffed. Many young and newly trained reapers tend to stray far off from their original purpose. Being a grim reaper isn't an easy job. At times collecting souls aren't as morally uplifting when the soul is someone they know, an innocent human who has never done wrong, or even a small child. Wars also tend to be very overwhelming.
So many left, most of them hide on earth as humans and live normally peaceful lives, trying to avoid any bounty hunters or the wrath of the council. It wasn't until Jason appeared that they began to wage war. Jason became sort of a messiah for them. He preached on the evils of the Grim Reaper Association and ranted on to whoever would listen; and they did listen. Unlike his father, Jason had a talent for seducing just about anyone with his smooth words and charisma. Not to mention he was a pretty decent looking guy.
Now all of his dedicated followers are currently trying to kill Ciel and his friends. Granted this would never happen if he had just kept to himself. Things never seem to go his way.
"I need to get to my father!" Halona stated.
"Well I don't know how you plan on getting there. Considering the many people trying to kill us." Ciel said. Sebastian was doing very well in killing anyone who stood before him, as you do. The number of enemies slowly began to lessen. However, Halona needed to get to her father now.
"Sebastian, I need you to get me over there." She said, pulling her blade out of a fallen opponent. The demon butler didn't hesitate to kill off his current obstacle. He looked her right in the eye and nodded.
Ciel wasn't sure what they were planning but he knew he wasn't going to like it.
Halona backed up, and sprinted at full speed. Sebastian used his hands to boost her into the air as she ran towards him. For a brief moment she flew in the air, then ran over many enemies and corpses. She ran as fast as she could, but Jason was already standing over a powerless Undertaker.
By this point Undertaker knew he had lost. His eyes said it all. He didn't fight back, he just sat there, staring at Jason with sad eyes.
Jason noticed this as well. "What's with that look? Don't you have anything to say?" Undertaker simply stared. Jason stomped his foot on Undertakers chest. Pinning him down, yet he made no movements. The old man had accepted his fate.
"Why? Why won't you say something!?" He continued stomping on his chest. He did nothing but let a single tear fall.
"SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT!" Jason cried out in frustration.
He hesitated, but spoke in a soft, calm tone. "I'm sorry. . . I've failed you."
Jason shook his head. "Is that all you have to say? After all that you've done, you think a simple 'sorry' is gonna fix everything?" Undertaker made no movements. "Ha. . . You're really something you know that? I'm afraid it's time to say goodbye."
Halona rushed towards them as she watched the scene unfold. It can't end like this, she thought.
"Papa!" She cried.
A sword pierced through Jason's chest, blood trickled down his body and a few drops landed on Undertakers face. Jason looked down in disbelief, his eyes watered and blood began to slowly form at his mouth. Halona pulled out her sword, tears welled up in her eyes.
He fell to his knees. As soon as everyone saw this they ran. All those who followed him knew that if they stayed. . . They too would meet the same fate.
"Ha. . . You got me." He said. Undertaker quickly held onto his son and laid him across his lap.
"My boy," he quietly sobbed, "my sweet boy." Jason looked up at him and laughed weakly.
"I thought I wasn't your son. Don't change your mind now.""You've always been my son. Don't you forget that." Jason sighed and looked at Halona, he mentioned for her to come forward.
"Why are you crying?" He asked.
"I never wanted to hurt you." She said between sobs.
"Please. . . You know it had to come to this." He looked back up at Undertaker. "It was meant to be this way, there was no way we could avoid this." Undertaker cried even more.
Halona grabbed Jason's hand tightly, he looked shocked at first, seeing as they just tried to kill each other earlier. But surprisingly, he was somewhat comforted. He had always wanted a sibling.
"This. . . This isn't so bad." He said. He took one last breath with a peaceful expression. Undertaker bent down and kissed his forehead.
Halona could barely breathe, she wanted to hug her father so badly but she didn't feel worthy of it. She could only watch as the man who saved her held onto his dead son.
She looked back at the sphere. Sebastain, Grell, and all the others worked together to pull apart the scythes. It shook and roared but finally shattered to the ground. The scythes scattered around the room, almost knocking them to the ground in the process.
It was over. They looked at each other but couldn't bring themselves to celebrate. They could only stare at the man in mourning. Halona looked down, not knowing what was going to happen next.
Alright, I know it's been a very fat minute since I've last updated. And I have a VERY good reason for it. Actually I don't but that's besides the point. I wanted to be honest with you guys. When I started this story I was honestly just winging the whole thing which I'm sure many of you have noticed. But I didn't expect some of y'all to actually enjoy it as much as you did. For that I'm extremely grateful. These days I haven't been motivated to write, draw, or do the things I used to love. I started this story for what seems to be a looooong time ago. That excitement just isn't there anymore if I'm being completely honest. But! I started this, I might as well finish this! So unfortunately that means the end is coming soon. But, I'm going to try my best because I love you all! You guys are literally the greatest because if you can tolerate my bullshit then you are probably the most beautiful person on earth. I love you guys!
