Imagine Wanda being relieved you're relatively unharmed after beings from another planet attack the city.
. .
. .
You were just picking up some pizza, wings, and beer for dinner when the street you were on brightened with sudden explosions and some form of energy blasts. The screaming was instantaneous and you found yourself running in whatever direction the crowd chose, looking for any opened doors to jump through. Someone kind enough managed to yank you through a door just in the nick of time, seconds before an explosion right across the street sent debris flying in every direction.
You'd manage to hunker down with numerous strangers in a back room, every person trying their damnedest to use their phones to see what was going on outside. Others were patching up the small wounds some people were sporting and you waved off any attention that the small abrasion on your neck brought you.
Then over half an hour later someone gets through to Twitter and mentions the Avengers are on scene taking care of the problem. It feels like the minutes are ticking by slowly before the all clear is given and you hurry as fast as you can to get outside.
The street is a mess of glass and pieces of building, blinding red and blue lights flashing every twenty feet or so. Captain America is shouting orders and Iron Man is zooming around pulling bystanders from the rubble. You're following the others to be checked out by the paramedics before you're released from the catastrophe zone when you see an all too familiar red wisp of energy manipulating some pieces of rubble.
"Wanda?" You stumble into the street, turning and going against the direction of the people you were walking with. "Wanda!"
With her hands still glowing red, Wanda glances over her shoulder and slowly smiles. You laugh in relief, eyes wet with tears you hadn't realized were falling. Pushing passed the perimeter of police officers, Wanda meets you half way. You throw your arms around her, hiding your face in her neck.
Hugging you back just as tightly, Wanda then soon releases you but her hands stay cradling your face. Tilting your face to the side so your neck is bared, she tuts disapprovingly. "You are hurt."
"I'm fine," you mumble. Pulling free of her grasp, your gaze darts to her forehead. "You're hurt."
"It's nothing," she waves off your concern. "I'll heal."
"So will I," you tell her. The two of you stare at one another, she smiling in understanding as your hands tremble and your bottom lip trembles. Not able to help yourself, you're hugging her once again. "God, Wanda, I was so scared. I didn't know what was happening and all I could think about-"
"Shh." She smooths her hand down the back of your head. "Shh. It's over now."
Wanda surprises you by pulling back slightly, only to press a chaste kiss to your lips. It's nothing overly romantic, but the following several pecks to your lips ground you. Then sighing in contentment, she rests her forehead against yours.
Standing there forehead to forehead, fingers entwined at your sides, your little bubble of contentment is shattered when someone clears their throat.
Startled, you turn and blink owlishly at the other gathered Avengers who are staring at you and Wanda in surprise.
"Question!" Iron Man muses. "Am I the only one who didn't know Wanda had a girlfriend?"
Hawkeye sniffles, mockingly wiping a tear from his eye. "She grew up so fast." The comment earns a snort and then a smack to the back of the head from the Black Widow.
Thor is beaming like he wants to say something, but is being held back by a glare from the Black Widow, and Captain America is smiling kindly as he watches the scene unfold before him.
"I seriously thought she had a thing going on with Vision." Iron Man then mumbles.
Wanda sighs and turns to face her team while standing side by side with you, clasping your right hand in her left. "This is Y/N. We've been dating for several months now." Turning towards you, she smiles apologetically. "I had hoped to introduce you under better circumstances, but it seems that was not to be."
Snorting, you nudge Wanda with your shoulder. "Liar. If you'd have had your way, you'd kept us far away from one another." Facing the Avengers, you shrug. "Not that I blame her though. You guys are pretty intimidating."
Iron Man gasps. "We are not."
"Uhh.. the Black Widow totally just cowered the God of Thunder with a look. A look!" The Black Widow preens and you chuckle at her. "Kudos on that, by the way. I really need to up my death stare game. Guys at the bar seem to not realize that I'm perfectly happy with a girlfriend. Instead they think they're capable of turning me straight."
"What?" Captain America frowns.
"What?" Wanda then grits out.
Glancing at her you see her eyes faintly glowing red. You think it's quite hilarious she's so worked up, but the second her hands start to glow you know it's not as funny as you thought. "Hey, no." You tug her in for a quick, silly kiss, but when that does nothing to calm her you tug her further in and blow a raspberry against her neck. When she giggles, you pull back and grin. "It's fine. The other bartender I work with always has my back, as does the bouncer. You have nothing to worry about."
"Yeah, especially since people are staring, gaping, and snapping pics of the two of you. I'm pretty sure that by tomorrow the world is gonna know your name and that your girlfriend is a kickass Avenger," Hawkeye muses. Tensing, you and Wanda glance around and see that Hawkeye is telling the truth. "And, by the way, awww! You guys are totally cute."
"I still wanna know how you two met and who made the first move," Iron Man says. "Pepper will too. She adores Wanda."
"It's true," your girlfriend murmurs, smiling.
You shrug and keep Iron Man's gaze. "That's fine. I was picking up dinner when everything went to shit, so if you want answers I'm gonna need sustenance."
"That I can do." His face mask closes up and you can hear him talking to someone named FRIDAY and placing orders from a couple different restaurants.
"Come." Wanda tugs on your hand, leading you to follow the other Avengers as they start walking off in one direction. "You can finally see HQ and my room."
"Lucky me," you smirk. Then lowering your voice, you ask, "I'm getting fatherly vibes from Captain American and Hawkeye. Think we can traumatize them by the time I have to leave?"
"Possibly. I am up for the task if you are."
"Oh I totally am."
