it was now the next day and will refused to talk to mike. mike couldn't handle it. he wanted to talk to his best friend. he needed to.
"dustin! what happened with mike and will? they're wrecks today." max called.
"i told will."
"dustin!! why? he's broken."
"i know, but i had to. it was to the point where mike actually flirted with him. and will thought it was real."
"what if he actually was?" max asked, as she looked up and thought. mike recently broke up with jane.
max ran off to find jane.
"hey! jane!"
"hey, max!" she smiled.
"sorry to ask, but why did mike break up with you."
"well, he said he didn't feel as if our relationship was the same anymore. he felt as if we didn't love each other anymore and that he didn't have feelings for me."
"oh. i'm so sorry."
"it's fine, i actually agreed. i have feelings for someone else."
"omg! who?!"
"i would rather not say." jane shrugged.
"okay. thanks!" max smiled.
as max walked off she thought, did mike fall in love with will, for real?

it was science class. mike and will sat next to each other. obviously mike couldn't handle it. he kept having tears build up in his eyes whenever he looked at will.
gosh i miss that kid. his smile, and eyes, and sweet, soft personality is just so perfect.
"shit. why did i just think that." mike mumbled under his breath.
will looked over confused what mike just said. but will made himself look away. he's not friends with mike. he can't get hurt again.
ring, ring, ring. the end of the day bell had interrupted mike and will's thoughts.
mike had gotten driven to school. he needed a ride but couldn't ride with will. he saw will hop on his bike and go home. he shrugged and started walking.
"hey, mike!" jonathan yelled, as he pulled up. "where's will?"
"oh hey! um he biked home."
"oh, want a ride?"
"sure." mike said, rubbing the back of his neck.
the car ride was silent and awkward, until jonathan broke it.
"will told me what happened. do you actually have feelings for him?"
"yeah. i realized that i really do. i even broke up with jane. i miss him, so much. even though it's been a day, i need him. he's my best friend."
" wow. he'll come around. i know you guys were close. i never thought that the byers/mikey duo would ever separate."
mike laughed at jonathan. "are you sure? he seems pretty set in stone that he refuses to talk to me."
"it's just cause he doesn't wanna get hurt. he thinks you're gonna hurt him emotionally. he will come around, mike."
"that's the thing, i won't hurt him. i have the biggest ray of love for him that i would never do anything he's not ready for." mike sighed, crying.
"he will realize soon that he needs you. just build your friendship up again until he feels better. i promise."
"jonathan."
"yes?"
"i-i n-need my will." mike sobbed.
"i know, mike. you will get him back." jonathan said, stopping the car and hugging mike.
mike just sat there accepting the hug. i need to fix the thing ive done to my will. mike thought as he sat there looking into the distance.
yes btw mike broke up with jane cause he had feelings for will. i never added that chapter but yea :)
