"Moooooo," said the cow who was currently grazing contentedly on a clump of grass. You heard the soft, juicy noises of the cow's tongue swishing the greens around in his mouth, its teeth breaking it up with dull chomping noises.
Your head spun. You rustled in your sleep, feeling the damp feel of the grass as it soaked its way through your clothes. Your eyes struggled to open. You moaned softly as your lashes flicked several times in protest to the bright morning light trying to sneak in.
You watched as a long thread of drool landed across your forehead, decorating your forehead in cow saliva.
"Ugh! Gross!" you screamed, now fully awake and jumping to your feet as your hands worked feverishly to swipe off the thick line of goo that adorned your forehead.
"Moooooo!" the cow protested, clearly offended. Slowly, she wandered off.
Smearing the mess off your hands, you wracked your brain, forcing the cogs in your mind to groan to life as you fought away the cobwebs to try and remember what all had happened the night before. It came in flashes.
First you remembered the girls in the masks, their long, dark hair peering out from beneath grotesque disguises.
Then it was the robe that had bound your wrists.
You inspected your hands freely now, stretching them out in front of your face. Two angry red lines marked each wrist. When you brought your fingers to them, they felt raw and sore to the touch.
The last thing you remembered was the look on Jimin's face before you were knocked out. It was a look you'd never forget, no matter how many times you'd seen him ever since. His face was forever ingrained in your brain. So helpless, so full of terror and pleading. You would forever see the pain in his eyes each time that you closed your own.
"Wait!" you called out to no one. "I'm back to where they took us!"
You spun around several times, still dizzy and disoriented. But now your mind clicked into place, reminding you with a sudden lightning strike that you were now free to find help. You stopped spinning, your hands flailing out widely to steady yourself, once you saw what you were looking for.
The car.
Jogging towards it, you were surprised at the stupidity of the kidnappers. Why would they bring you back here? With your phone and the car and with a general sense of how to get back to safety? It seemed off.
You opened the car door, the hinge sighing open in release. Ducking in, one knee on the driver's seat, you reached a hand to the floor of the car, fishing blindly for your phone under the seat. You found Jimin's as well on the passenger side dash.
Both phones now in hand, you held them up high, checking for service. Still no luck, fam, but it was worth a shot. You tucked one phone into each back pocket of your jeans and decided to give starting the car another try.
Glerghagughaglurgabluhbluhpop.
Yeah, that's pretty much what you expected to happen.
You pocketed the keys as well and then exited the vehicle, ready to make your way down the long, long road back towards civilization. You were sure once you got closer to town, your phone would have reception once again.
It was a cool morning, made even cooler by your lack of jacket, but even as your breath came out in smoky puffs in front of your face, you didn't notice the temperature. No, your adrenaline kept you warm as it pumped blood all throughout your body at a rapid pace.
Every few minutes you'd stop, checking each phone for signs of life.
You were maybe a quarter mile or so down the road before you noticed something out of the corner of your eye laying on the ground ahead, just a little way off down the hill. When you were close enough to make out the familiar shape of the object, you picked up your pace and jogged over to it.
