One evening, Grace was in the study/library working on her homework when she heard the doorbell ring and heard her mother go investigate. Her twin brother had to stay after school with Coach Bolton to help him with practice and studying so he stayed the night at Troy's. Grace walked out of the study and heard Troy's voice say, "Hi, Mrs. Anderson. I'm Troy Bolton, Grace's friend." Katherine chuckled and replied, with her thick British accent like her daughter and sons had, "Of course, Troy. You don't have to introduce yourself to me and remember, I told you call me Katherine." Troy chuckled and said, looking around for Grace, "Is Grace home?" Katherine turned to see her daughter shaking her head at her and she replied, "She's busy with homework right now, I'm afraid." Troy sighed and said, "Can you tell her that I came by to apologize and that I made a mistake?" Katherine nodded and said, "Yes, of course. Goodnight, Troy."

Katherine turned to see her daughter going back to the study and followed her. She crossed her arms and said to the girl, "Now, would you mind telling me what that was about? Last time I saw, you and that boy were friends." Grace shaked her head and replied, as she finished packing her backpack after finishing her schoolwork, "Well, we were but apparently to him, I'm not important and the callbacks are stupid." Katherine sighed and said, defending Troy, "Grace, sweetheart, you know that he has a game coming up. He probably was stressed and that he was overwhelmed with what's going on." Grace just scoffed and replied, "Troy Bolton, stressed? Mum, that word doesn't describe him. Ok, I'm going to go upstairs and get ready for bed. I have practice with the band for the upcoming game."
.............................................
Thirty minutes later; Grace was in her bed, chilling out on her laptop while her phone and iPad were on the nightstand next to her, as she was trying to get herself tired. She heard her phone ringing 'What I've been looking for' and grabbed it. She sighed when she saw who it was and said, answering, "What do you want, Troy? I thought I made it clear that I didn't want anything to do with you anymore." Troy sighed and replied, on the other line, "Look, Grace, what I said........that wasn't me." Grace slightly rolled her eyes and said, rolling onto her stomach, "Well, you sounded convincing to me. I really did thought you were a good friend, Troy, and that hurt when I heard you say though things."

On the other line, Troy's heart broke when he heard Grace say that. Troy replied, "I know that I was in the wrong and I'm sorry. The guys were getting on my nerves and it was annoying me that they cared about what I did. Your brother was the same way." At the mention of her twin brother, Grace closed her eyes as she remembered her going off on her poor twin brother who really did feel guilty after the fight. Their father did try to get them to talk but while her twin brother was willing to talk, she wasn't. Grace sighed and Troy continued, "And I would like to apologize even further for what I did. I have something for you." Grace became confused and she said, "What?" Troy replied, causing Grace to turn around and see him on her bedroom balcony, "Turn around."

Troy began to sing the same song they sang on that faithful day they became friends. The day after they met at school, they met each other again at a restaurant and did karaoke together. Grace smiled slightly and said, "You do know how to charm a girl to forgive you, don't you?" Troy just shrugged his shoulder with a smile and replied, "My mom did say it was one of my traits I shared with my dad. So, does that mean you forgive me?" Grace smiled and said, hugging Troy, "Yes." Troy gave Grace a piece of paper that a song written on it and said, "It's a pair audition." Grace looked at the paper then back at Troy and replied, "You have a lot of making up to do." Troy nodded sincerely and said, "And I plan on doing it."
