"Hey." Emily offered a smile as she made her way over to you, sitting in front of you quickly.
You looked up, offering a weary smile, before looking back to your book.
"What's wrong?" She glanced at you, furrowing her eyebrows.
"I- Nothing." You decided to keep your mouth shut. You'd always been one to hold your feelings in.
"Come on, you can talk to me." She placed a hand on your arm. "You know that."
"I just- I let that girl die. I let her die. She was standing right in front of me and I didn't do anything." You shook your head, looking down.
"Y/N, honey. It's not your fault. It happens and you know that." Emily rubbed your arm once again.
"I know. It's just hard."
"Well, you know I love you, if that helps at all." She offered a smile, as you smiled a bit too.
"Thank you, Emily."
"Anytime, Y/N." She sat back against the chair, not thinking to move back to her original seat.
