Infinity Guardian

Chapter 7: Becoming

The team of five assembled. They were given Infinity Court armor and weapons. When the five had all they needed they Empathy took them to a shuttle.

They traveled to an archaic temple on an overgrown forest planet in the middle of nowhere. An old robed woman in a bronze mask with a blue glowing infinity symbol on the forehead appears out of thin air to greet them at the temple.

"Welcome Infinity Guardian saviour of the universe, Empathy the legendary Baraxian teacher, Bioseus the destroyer but no less than a hero and the three loyal accomplices who have roles just as important." Says the old woman.
The company give confused looks, especially Bioseus. What does "the destroyer but no less than a hero" mean?

"Greetings Prophecy you know why we are here." Empathy greets the old woman.

"I will show you what you seek." Prophecy cackles. She gestures to the doorway which opens to blinding blue light.

The group are distracted by the mesmerising blinding light.

Bioseus turns to the old women and asks "What do you mean?" But she has disappeared as fast as she appeared out of nowhere.

Empathy pushes John forward and nods. John takes a deep breath and walks through the door. He is followed by Jane, then Bioseus and the others except Empathy who waited outside. They all hold there weapons high. John draws his sword and shield, Jane her warhammer, Shalen his staff, Bioseus his Destro Blade and Taneya her blaster and long dagger. They all wear plate mail except Shalen who wears his mage robes with chainmail underneath.

The temple is gleaming with mesmerising glowing gold. A voice speaks in a language none of them can distinguish. They advance together in a formation. There is door at the other side of the room. John approaches boldly and opens the door. When it is opened the voice says the word "bravery". It opens into what looks like an arena. The group step into the arena with their weapons. The crowd cheers, at further inspection they notice that the people watching appear familiar. It is all the people they have ever encountered in their life. 

A faceless man announces the fight by saying "Contenders if you wish to bear the Infinoguard then you must prove your worth in combat!" 

The gates to the arena open and animal/human mashup monsters flood into the pit. Bioseus' armor expands with metal coming out and a mask falls down onto his face. A red cape falls down his back and a shield folds out of his left arm. His core glows red and so do his eyes.  He ignites his sword and begins slaying hundreds of the monsters without hesitation. 

"I see why he was called The Destroyer." Jokes Shalen.

Jane and John begin bashing and slashing the monsters. Taneya shakes her head and and begins blasting the monsters. Shalen casts a ward on himself and observes the others exerting themselves on what is clearly a warm up.

Bioseus stands with a pile of dead bodies around him and looks around. He nods to Shalen with a smile. Shalen shakes his head at the brutal showoff. 

"You really thought they were REAL monsters? Then see how you face this lot!" Laughs The Faceless Man. 

A huge walrus man monster bursts through one of the gates. Then an elephant and a few others others. Six in total. Taller than buildings. Then a masked gladiator with a short sword and chain mace enters the arena. 

The giants close in on the group. Jane stands strong and her skin turns into heavy grey stone and she grows bigger while straining. Her armor falls to pieces on the ground as she becomes a giant as big as the other giants. Her hands become huge stone hammers. She begins battering the the giants with her hammers.
