Infinity Guardian

Chapter 8: Our King

He was officially the third Infinity Guardian! His new sword was an extremely well balanced bastard sword. It had an inscription on the blade written in a magical language that automatically translates to the reader's primary language. It reads "Thou shall posses infinity if thou is pure of heart". When he focuses he can make the blade turn a neon blue  just like his hands and eyes.

However, John and Bioseus continue to morn the death of their friends for many years feeling that the blood was on their hands.

John is finally crowned Infinity Guardian after training for more than a decade that he has undergone since all those years ago in with the bullies in London.

John is wearing ceremonial armor with extravagant engravings and glowing gold and sterling silver details. In his belt is his newly acquired sword. He glances to the crowd of hundreds and notices Vannessa and Bioseus. He continues walking with mixed emotions of worry and pride. He kneels before Empathy and holds his sheathed sword to Empathy.

"I vow to protect the universe and its people and never stray from the "path of light"." John vows as he has rehearsed countless times with Lord Valinhorn.  Empathy then places a gleaming golden crown on John's head.

"I name you Infinity Guardian, protector of the universe, and officially hand over the leadership of the Infinity Court to you." Empathy annonces which makes the ceremony official.

John stands and faces the crowd. He lifts his new sword high in the sky. The crowd erupts in thunderous applause. As he walks back down the isle with Empathy he is congratulated by many people some he recognises some he doesn't. But he notices he can no longer see Bioseus anymore.

They enter a room full of weapons and armour. Inside is Vannessa, Bioseus and a group of people John barely recognises. They all wear the same uniform. It is similar to the infinity court armour but more extravagant and expensive looking. The all wear a glowing Infinity symbol.

"Welcome to the Infinity Force, the elite peacekeeping devision of the Infinity Court. You have all been chosen for your extraordinary skills." Empathy tells them all.

All of the members summoned bow to John as their leader. The group of many individuals stand and part ways. John had met his new friends but he couldn't help but feel they were replacing his old comrades.

John and Bioseus return to their bedroom.
"Well done on your big day." Congratulates Bioseus kindly.
"Thanks." Replies John. "I have something to tell you."
"What's that?" Asks Bioseus.
"I kind of have, like, a thing for you." John tells Bioseus awkwardly.
"Oh right I..." Bioseus says back hesitantly.
"It's okay if you..."Interiors John.
"No I love you too." Bioseus informs John.  "Who did you tell?" Asks Bioseus.
"Only Taneya" Says John with a hint of sadness as he says her name.

There was a silence and they both knew what the other was thinking.

John was summoned early in the morning by Lord Valinhorn. They talked in detail about the new huge responsibilities of being the Infinity Guardian. He now had to police the universe! It is no easy feat.

With the new team initiated. They put on their armour with Bioseus putting on his Destro Core. The group were sent into a planet ruled by tyrant and dictatorship. The rich were in charge using the poor and migrants as worthless slaves. It was the duty of the Infinity Guardian to save them!

They walk down a crowd of citizens and colleagues cheering. They were treated like heroes.

They enter their warship to charge in to victory. Numerous soldiers follow them into the ship. It looked to John that they were starting a war. This put him on edge.

They demanded access to a landing pad claiming they wanted to talk. When they land a group approaches them.

"Greetings what brings you humble warriors of the Infinity Court to the peaceful planet, Silvesnotre." A woman in silk robes tells them.

The landing pad looked wealthy with no sign of poverty.

"You know why we're here." Warns Bioseus with his sword hilt behind his back ready to stab.

The woman gives him a stern look. John senses glances at a wall and notices a soldier behind it. They had them surrounded ready to fight. John held back Bioseus and whispered "We're surrounded." to him.

"We come in peace not for a fight." Assures Infinity Guardian.

"We ask that you set all your slaves free." Vannessa commands her.

"What slaves? Do you see slaves here?" Asks the wealthy woman.

"The Infinity Court have spies everywhere." Vannessa informs the woman menacingly.

"Alright, I've run out of patients, soldiers!" Shouts Bioseus. As he says this about fifty soldiers armed with "peace keeping" rifles. Bioseus then stabs the lady with his ignited blade. War breaks out.

Infinity Guardian sighs with his hand over his forehead. Then he takes of the ground and begins blasting the opposition. After fighting the palace is in ruins with casualties in both sides. The army marches through the now ruined world passing the smouldering rubble that was their doing. They "liberate" the slave camps and get them all into the safety of their starships .

This mission made John questions who really was the "bad guys".

When they returned they were celebrated as heroes back from a noble crusade. But were they really noble  heroes.

A few more years passed. Bioseus extended his lab behind a secret door. He was building a hidden robot army and a selection of suits getting better and better but he still could not perfect the Destro Particle formula.

Infinity Guardian still questioned what the Infinity Court really did for the universe. But they were convinced they were always following "the path of light". He didn't know it but Bioseus was even more skeptical about what they were doing.

Bioseus and John now had a double bed instead of their single beds. They were becoming even closer to each other. But John still didn't know about the robot army.

Then they had a mission on Earth...
