They got ready to return for the first time in 27 years. They were both anxious and excited. What had Earth become while they were gone? They were going to find out.
They were told someone had been experimenting on people without their consent. However, the local governments of the countries had allowed it. Some of the experiments escaped and formed a rebellion. They joined up with sympathizers and other protesters causing civil wars across many countries. Of course the US had joined in making profits by war mongering selling weapons to help the governments. Even though they all know experimenting on humans is against human rights and universally considered wrong they chose profit over morals. Surprisingly the Chinese raised their concern over the human rights abuse. They offered safety to many of the rebels. In addition they took it a step further by funding rebel organisations. However, they did not join the rebellion by directly battling the governments and organisations. However, this did not at all help the cold war between the USA and China. Some journalists believe China only helped the rebels to be on the other side of the US.
But the question was who is the one experimenting on people?
That was for then to find out.
The Infinity Force were summoned by Empathy for a briefing. They sat at a table with Empathy standing.
"After human testing in developing and emerging countries, rebellion groups were formed within those countries. The first in the trend was in parts of Africa lead by Chibwe Mapalo who calls himself "Metallic". They have been given peaceful aid from the Chinese Government. They are rebelling against an anonymous group lead by someone who calls himself the "Techno Wizard". Since the Experimentation Human Rights Rebellion (EHRR), other smaller groups in other vulnerable countries have joined the group. Other prominent leaders are Banhi Patel, sponsor Wong Zhou and more known leaders on the governing body of the organisation." Empathy lectures the team.
"So it's chaos then!?" Bioseus asks rhetorically with a chuckle.
"Sounds like it." Infinity Guardian says with a hint of disappointment.
"You need to send aid to the EHRR! I will send you in transport shuttles to their HQ. I have contacted the war council and they are expecting your arrival for the final push of rescuing hostages from and destroying the main Advanced Development Facility. They have aid from soldiers all across the world. However they remain sorely outnumbered because both the US and Russia are backing the governments and organisations in charge of the human rights exploitation. That's where we come in. We as protectors of the universe need to help these people who are in need. We will send you along with a small battalion of soldiers." Empathy continues.
"Right so we bust the facility, save the hostages and blow the place up. Sounds like a good job." Says Guerre, a war hungry female alien from the barren planet Wertyuiopa. She wears the Infinity Force armor and her weapon of choice is a dangerous rail-gun. She has sharp tusks protruding out up from her mouth, a deep scar on her face with a bionic eye and has tough dark grey skin.
On arrival Infinity Guardian and Bioseus felt extremely nervous. They are met by a number of soldiers. At the front is a man with blotches of metal all over his body it looks as if they have formed where he has had injuries like scabs, he wears a camouflage vest with a bare chest underneath, rugged khaki trousers. He has an assault rifle slung on his back and a machete in his belt. Next to him is a woman with reptilian features with a similar soldier-like uniform but with two pistols and knives. There is another woman in a smartly dressed suit and has ears seem to be pointed like a fantasy elf.
"Welcome to HQ! I am General Chibwe, this is my sister Kyela and the head of management Banhi." Chibwe welcomes Infinity Guardian.
Infinity Guardian shakes hands with Chibwe and he is taken into a meeting room followed by Bioseus who stays at his side. A group of people, presumably the council, were already sat and a very large circular conference table. However only around half of the table had been filled up. When Infinity Guardian, Bioseus, Metallic, Kyela and Banhi sat down holograms of other member suddenly began to pop up. Bioseus and Infinity Guardian are both gives headsets.
"Whoa when did we create functioning holograms?!" Exclaims Bioseus.
"It's 2027, we were gifted them by China so we could communicate efficiently." Metallic informs Bioseus.
"So you all understand why your here. We are massing our armies to strike their main facility." Annonces Banhi.
"Yes our division have already arrived at the raid camp." Announces Karim, one of the ambassadors.
Infinity Guardian notices that the movements he is making with his mouth don't match his words. Surely the headset doesn't translate everything. Nothing like that was available in 2000. But then again neither were holograms.
"This is our strongest ally, the Infinity Guardian." Metallic introduces Infinity Guardian to the council.
"What's so special about him?" Questions Wong.
Metallic gestures to John to show them. Infinity Guardian closes his eyes for a few seconds. Everyone at the edges of their seats except Bioseus. He'd seen it all from John. Suddenly, Infinity Guardian opens his eyes which now glow a bright neon blue. He draws his sword which glows a same colour. Metallic picks up a plate and chucks it at Infinity Guardian who chops it clean in half with his sword like a hot knife through butter. He then throws a glass and Infinity Guardian blasts it and it vaporizes.
The room erupts into amazed applause.
"That is spectacular!" Says one of the astonished viewers.
"Looks like we are ready for the assault." Exclaims Kyela.
"So we all travel to the siege camp a few miles away from the facility by 5pm today." Reminds Metallic.
"Yes my armies have already arrived." Announces Adriana, an ambassador.
"We are on the way." Says Njeri, another ambassador.
They all nod at each other and the holograms turn off. The other people begin to leave.
"You can use our ships if you want any of your soldiers to get there faster." Bioseus offers to Metallic.
"Yes that would be appreciated. Do you mind coming with me in my truck?" Replies Metallic.
"That sounds good." Says Infinity Guardian.
Around them HQ was buzzing with activity. Soldiers were arming themselves and jumping into trucks, jeeps and helicopters.
Metallic's truck was shiny silver and bulky mounted with a mini gun on the top. Another soldier meets the five of them. She was wearing a dark brown Kevlar bodysuit and had a metal full face helmet with a visor covering the forehead with transparent material. She also had an arsenal of weapons on her back. Peculiarly, she has 5 eyes.
"Hello Hand-Eye, how are you." Greets Metallic.
"I'm good. I'll be your gunner." Hand-Eye tells Bioseus and John in a strong accent.
Banhi and Vannessa bid them good travels. The enter the truck . Inside it seems very high tech. The clear branding states "WoZo International". Inside there is advanced communication systems, flat screens and compartments full of essentials. When they enter it pressure seals them in. The vehicle begins moving but there is no driver!
"Where's the driver?" Asks John.
"There is no driver it is driven by an AI, like many cars these days." Informs Metallic.
The seats were very comfortable and they traveled very quickly. After having many conversations with Metallic and Kyela they arrived at the siege camp.
