The only thing at the moment I could hear was my heart racing inside my chest. I started looking around the classroom, while the vice president was shuffling the cards and noticed that everyone in the classroom was whispering about me.

classmate 1: What the hell is (L/n) doing?!?

classmate 2: What does he think playing against the president?

classmate 3: It's not that I don't trust (L/n), I mean he already won 500 million Yen but let's be real for a moment, we all know that he will lose.

classmate 4: Of course, he will lose! It's the president of the student council who he is playing against.

I could just roll my eyes hearing all these assumptions. Tchh, they really have no trust in me winning this game but if I'm real with myself for a moment, I have no idea if I have any chance at winning this game. I never saw her playing so I have no clue how she plays and I don't know what her strategies will be for this game.

While looking through the classroom, Hide and my eyes met. His gaze had no emotions whatsoever, but I knew he was trying to hide his anger. When I saw Kirari the first time, he lectured me I should never play against her even if I'm a good gambler because I would end up as a pet or even worse. I think he just wanted to protect me back then, so I promised him I would never play against her to keep him calm. I mean at that time I didn't want to get her attention because of my secrets, so I thought the chances of me playing against her were nearly zero, but now she is threatening my sister and my best friend. I feel bad for breaking my promise, but what other options did I have? I don't want that she turns them into a pet just because of me, so I have no other choice as to play against her. I don't care if he's angry at me, at least I can protect him even if I end up as a pet.

I stopped thinking about Hide. I could feel the worried stares of everyone because of my nervous and stressed look I had externally and internally. The thing is just that everyone think I'm nervous because I could end up as a pet but that's not it. As stupid as it sounds, I'm just a hopeless lover-boy at this point, who plays a game against his crush and wants to impress her at all costs, what also was the source of my nervousness and stress. I really want to impress her, but I have no idea how. I never had a girlfriend or a crush, so I don't know what to do and how to impress girls.

The vice president ripped me out of my thoughts when she started to dish out the cards and gave Kirari and me two cards. She then put the deck of cards in the middle of the table.

Vice President: You both can look your cards.

Man do I really have no other problems then thinking on how to impress a girl right now? I have to focus now. I took my cards, looked at them and my expression directly went to my game face. Some of the students got scared of my personality switch from being nervous to serious. I don't know why, but when I gamble I can relax and I'm more self-confident, it's really like I'm a complete different person.

Not bad, I have two aces which means I already have one high pair. The chance of getting a three of a kind lies around 7,5 percent.

(Y/n): Ready?

Kirari: When you are.

Vice President: (Y/n) you can start to bet your chips.

How many chips should I bet? I already have two aces what plays in my favour. I took twenty of my chips and put them in the middle of the table.

While putting my chips in the middle Kirari started to giggle.

Kirari: A good hand?

(Y/n): Maybe? Maybe not? You will see it soon.
