                           (Y/N)'s POV

The day had finally come. We were to leave for Fort Liberty (This is made up. I'm making a fort that will help out the story more.). Fort Washington had been captured by the British as of recent. There were several carriages lined up and ready to go, destinations written on the side. Funny thing, British and Americans in uniform were within 15 feet from each other and not murdering each other.

Charle held my hands, I winced at the touch but I didn't back away.

"I shall return with victory and then we shall move to Great Britain. Goodbye, my wife."

He lightly pecked my cheek and then joined his friends on a carriage headed to his fort in Savannah, Georgia.

As soon as the carriage was out of sight, I hopped onto a carriage headed to Fort Liberty.

I watched out the carriage window as husbands left wives and children. War is a sad time for everyone. As a soldier, you fight everyday while living under harsh conditions. As a wife, you sit in your house, wondering if your husband will come home while you put on a brave face for your kids. As a child, you long to see your father again and pray he'll come home.

"Is this seat taken?"

I turned around to see Burr in his soldier's uniform.

I smile. "Nope!"

He returns the smile and sits down next to me, I can't help but notice the ranking patch on his uniform.

"Lt. Colonel?"

Burr nods. "I got promoted a week ago."

    "And you didn't tell me?"

    "I personally apologize, (Y/N)."

I smiled. "Aaron, you don't need to apologize. I understand why you didn't tell me, love."

Aaron smiled and draped an arm around me. I rested my head on his shoulder.

    "Aaron... If Charle found out-"

"Then he'd find out he wasted his chance to be with the most wonderful person alive."

I smiled and kissed Burr's cheek. He turned to look at me and grinned.

    "You missed."

I playfully rolled my eyes and quickly pecked him on the lips. "Don't push it, Burr."

"Need I remind you you're the one who kissed me?"

"I'd kiss you again if you weren't so full of yourself."

"If I'm full of myself then why do I think about you everyday?"

"Touché, Burr. Touché."

As if in an instant, we shared a kiss. It was longer and more passionate than our first kiss at the Winter's Ball. He held me like I was a glass figure; like I could break easily.

The carriage door creaked open. Burr and I instantly broke the kiss and returned to normally sitting but it was too late; Hamilton had seen everything. He chuckled.

"Am I interrupting something?~" I didn't like the tone of his voice.

Burr spoke for me. "As a matter of fact, you are."

Hamilton laughed. "Believe me, I've seen worse. Remember the café owner, Rose? I took Lafayette to her café. They start talking and flirting then next thing I know Laf waltzes into the storage closet with her."

I already feel myself throwing up mentally. "I did NOT need to know that!"

"That's not the point. What I meant was I won't tell anybody. That's your business. Also, put in a good word for me with your sister, please.

I smiled. "Of course."

Alex and Eliza have been courting for a while. (Lams is nonexistent. Sorry, not sorry.) I'm pretty sure that he already asked for her hand. But sadly, if he did ask for Liz's hand, I couldn't see Hamilton squirm in his chair while bearing my father's icy stare. That would've been a sight.

Burr smiled warmly, "Would you like to sit with us for the ride, Alex?"

Alex shrugged. "Sure."

Wait.. Didn't Burr want to spend alone time with me? Men are so confusing.

Suddenly, a woman ran up to the door of the carriage and started shouting very loudly. "Alexander Hamilton! Are you telling random people my business?"

A smile came to my face. "Rose!"

    "Oh my gosh, (Y/N)!"

We hugged for a moment and then she shook me by the shoulders. "Why didn't you tell me you were becoming a nurse?!"

"You didn't tell me you were a nurse, how is this different?!"

Rose laughed. "Fair point, Mrs. Burr."

I felt my cheeks go pink. But on the other hand, I liked the sound of Mrs. Burr.

Alex spoke. "Is it true you fooled around with Lafay-"

"Shush!" She covered my ears. "Not in front of the kids."

I sighed. "Rose, we are literally the same age. I'm guessing you're older than me by about a few months."

"See, Alex? Now you're making her upset!"

We were all glaring at Rose by now but she was prepared for this.

"Guys, relax. I brought some beer for y'all."

The whole atmosphere of the carriage changed.

"You're fine, Rose! You didn't do anything bad," Burr said, taking a swig of his drink.

Rose offered me a bottle, I held my hand up to her. "No thanks, I'm trying not to drink anymore alcohol."

Alex held up his hand. "Wait a minute. Weren't you getting drunk with us a few days ago?"

Burr turned to me. "Is this true?"

I nodded. "Charle.... He hit me and I ran away... I came into the bar. Alex and his friends were in there. I normally don't drink but I wanted to forget everything from that night, they made me feel better... I only remember a few things after I got drunk from that night. I remember you helping me, I remember seeing my sisters, and I remember.. Never mind."

Burr sighed. "I have a feeling I already know. Does it, by any chance, have to do with him cheating on you."

    "How'd you know?!"

Rose frowned. "Her name is Belle DeClaire. One of them street walkers. I've seen her with Charle in my café. They're disgusting, the lot of them."

I took a beer glass. "You know what? I'm not here to talk about Charle. I'm here to win a goddamn war. Who's with me?"

Rose, Aaron, and Alex raised their glasses to mine.

Rose spoke. "To freedom of speech and freedom of the colonies."

Then Alex. "To the end of slavery and the end of tyranny."

And finally, Burr. "To getting rid of all British traces and being with the one I love."

    I smiled. "Let's do this f*cking thing."
