JOLENE'S POV:

"Listen Nashoba, If I leave without that knife I will send your brothers to destroy you." I said threateningly.

We've been at this for five hours.

I've been shocked so many times I'm not sure I have any patience or brain cells left.

She laughed "You're a foolish girl. Honestly, you come to my home and then tell me you beat my sister, then you expect me to just accept this?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows.

Dimitri stepped forward to attack but got shocked again.

Thomas rubbed his forehead and then pulled the gun out holding it toward her "I'm not fucking playing around. My daughters life depends on that." He said causing me to worry.

If he shoots her that's it, we lose our truce.

"You wouldn't dare." She said smirking.

Seeing as Thomas has been freaking out the last three hours, I was sure he would dare to do it.

"Don't test him, he will." I warned her watching as she eyed Thomas in curiosity.

Bronx was forcing himself to stand upright but he seemed ready to collapse.

I looked to Thomas "She'll eventually give in. We'll just wait a bit longer." I said watching him nod and put the gun away.

We waited for about an hour before Thomas started shouting for them to come on out.

When one of the wolves was shown he raised his gun and without thinking, pulled the trigger.

"Thomas!" I shouted running to the barrier and feeling myself electrocuted.

Dammit.

As the Wolf scampered off turning to a young boy and running, I realized we probably lost any chance of getting that knife back now.

Sighing, I watched Thomas, "You may have cost us Anne's life." I said angry with his impatience and rash decision.

He scowled toward the woods, "I'll kill them all if I have to." He said low.

Thomas isn't himself, he holds the same hatred he did for Lucious so many years back. It took him years to tone that hatred, that hunt.

He's just scared, I shouldn't be harsh on him.

We went to step back but the long and aching sound of a heavy bowl came.

Did he kill the kid?

I felt my heart race, then we ran.

The chase lasted about ten minutes, and Bronx was lifted by Dimitri to hurry us out of there.

It didn't matter, they caught us, they rounded us up and outnumbered us greatly.

Shit.

MICHAELS POV:

"How are the recruits lasting?" I asked as I headed down to the cells.

The scrawny man, Lou, gave me a nod, "Well sir, we-we realized that uh many of the humans aren't-well they aren't taking to the change very well. Out of the fifty we have tested, only seven have survived." He said nervously.

That's definitely something to be nervous about saying to a guy like me.

Heading down the steps, I reached the bottom cells and stared at each cell block.

Only eight locked.

Out of fifty.

"Fuck." I said low under my breath.

Turning, I punched him hard in the face, my hand twitching to swing into a surface.

As he fell to the floor, I eyed the eight mortals changing.

The first, a blonde, scrawny kid who's eyes held a blood shot red and his veins showed through as a black tinted color beneath the pale flesh.

"When did the first few die?" I asked staring at the second one, a girl with dark hair and big eyes, a tattoo of a fly on her hand.

Lou stood holding his jaw, "Within the transitioning of the blood. I believe their bodies refused the blood entirely." He said with a shaky tone.

Ah, of course.

My eyes fell to the third, Ah would you look at that, "We have a cop in our presence." I said amused.

The guy was young, his eyes running over me in anger. Looking to his name tag, I smirked, "Officer Roy, great to have you aboard." I said softly.

He didn't like me much.

The next was a guy with muscles and a very familiar face. "Were you a movie star?" I asked him as I leaned in.

He jumped at the bars and I smirked stepping back, "Who are they?" I asked Lou.

He gestured to the first couple cages, "It's Tyler, Jayda, Roy, Ryker, Donny and surprise it's another Michael." He said then turned around and gestured to the two behind us.

I pulled my focus from the other Michael carefully, then stared to the other cells "Those are from the fresh corpses we pulled from the ground." He cleared his throat and stared at me.

I looked to him cautiously, I didn't know we ever pulled corpses, "They were dead when you began?" I asked.

He gave a nod, "We used Annalise's blood. We had a lot saved and I uh hooked them to a blood bag. Only two came back to life within a day. The thing is, these bodies had just been buried. I think they'd only been dead for a day or two." He said shrugging.

I'm sorry, "Her blood brought them back to life?" I asked again.

Lou gave a small and slow nod, "Yes, but I uh, I think it's only humans and uh we tried about thirty corpses and only these two survived the change. Vampires are more immune and tougher, humans are very simple." He said shrugging.

Fascinating.

Absolutely fascinating.

I stared at the guy in the cell, tall kid, dark hair and big green eyes. He spat my way and I couldn't help but like his spunk.

"This one?" I asked gesturing to the cell.

Lou stared at the guy, "That's uh-his names Vince." He said nodding, "He was buried with a flashlight." He said curiously.

A flashlight?

Someone's afraid of the dark.

I stared at the cell beside his, "Who is she?" I asked eyeing the blonde girl over. She had blue eyes that sunk in the redness of the veins around it. "She was buried beside him. Mitsy? I think." He said low and staring down at his clipboard.

Mitsy huh?

I watched her stand and stare at me with hunger in her eyes, not a bad looking human.

Not bad at all.

Looking to Lou, I pointed to Michael's name, "I don't like that guy, do a background check on him. I don't think I trust his face." I said watching Lou nod before I headed up the steps.

I don't like having so many Michaels in the house, I might have him change his name to Mike.
