"mark honey, donghyuck left something here for you."

mark flickered his eyes open and noticed his mom sitting at the edge of his bed with a clear container and a small envelope. mark picked up the container and inspected it's contents. inside was a home-cooked meal. it smelled fresh, it reminded mark of when he was young and he used to eat his mother's meals after school. he then picked up the note left with the food and read over it. it was from donghyuck.

'dear mark, i cooked this for you today to show you that I care about you ! even if you don't like me it's okay, i want you to feel special and safe. please enjoy this meal, minhyuk even helped me make it and i want you to know she really misses you and your mom. i miss you too. you're going back to school in a few days, it will be good to see you again. well, i better go now, please enjoy your food markie. love, lee donghyuck'

mark re read the letter over and over again. he felt special finally being connected to the boy again, everyday he felt even more guilty for what he did. he couldn't live with himself after hurting someone that much, for hurting himself. he didn't understand why it effected him so much, the two of them only knew each other for 6 weeks. mark inspected the envelope once again and noticed something peeking out from inside of it. pulling it out mark couldn't believe his eyes.

there in his hands was a photo of mark and donghyuck on the picnic they went on with each other, just a week before. it was the two of them laying in the field, donghyuck holding up the camera as you could see their hands holding each other's in the bottom corner of the picture. mark felt his heart rate pick up. he realised he had made a mistake. he needed to fix this. it needed to be him and donghyuck again. he would fix them. he needed his best friend back.

Everyone found it strange how the two of them connected so deeply in just 2 weeks, becoming the best friend duo in the entire school. the quiet sick kid, matched with the troubled party kid. matched by mistake, an improbable team. mark didn't know why this was happening either, he never thought he'd end up right here, regretting hurting someone as much as he did. i guess fate just dropped them in each other's hands.

"what you got there, kiddo."

"he made me something."

"he cooked that for you, didn't he."

"yeah."

"what happened between you two?"

"I did something really bad. said some things I shouldn't have said. I have regrets mom. I really do. it's unfair what I did, i hurt him really bad."

"honey I don't mean to yell but- you need to get your ass up and get him back. You have regrets huh? You got to make sure that no one remembers what you did. You need to get him back wether or not it hurts you in the process."

"Thanks mom, I needed that."

"Well, don't just sit there, we need to figure out how to get him back!"

Minhyuk and Donghyuck laid there on their dirty floor resting against each other. Now, all they had were each other. Donghyuck now knew he had to work extra hard to give Minhyuk the chance to live the life she needed. he wanted her to grow up with the life she always dreamed of. It was now the dead of night, everyone's eyes closed. Not even a fly was awake at this time. Although one person was awake. The young boy laid with his sister right next to him, his eyes not being able to flutter close. He laid there awake at night, thinking of a certain boy. Oh just how he loved the way he smiled, the way he spoke, the way his eyes curved when he smiled and the way his intoxicating laugh filled his ears. He truly was in love was the boy. but hyuck knew he had to forget his feelings. he knew he had to leave behind any good memory, ever moment they shared and felt together, he knew all of it would just hurt him more. maybe he needed a way to express himself. maybe it was time he confessed.
